A little while ago I saw a pizza in the store made with whole wheat dough. So I thought why not try it. It was probably the worst tasting pizza I ever had. For me the wheat dough just ruined the whole taste of the pizza. Have you ever had a pizza made with whole wheat dough?

I've never seen pizza with whole wheat dough though I like cheese on toast made on wholemeal bread so I can't imagine it's that different in taste. I bet it would be nicer if it was handmade whole wheat dough, if it was mass produced the dough is probably all made in a big vat and never even touched by a human hand.

I know what you mean I've bought what claimed to be whole wheat products that tasted like a word we aren't even able to type here, god knows what it is they use in these things but it must qualify as whole wheat or they'd get sued, it certainly doesn't taste like it. I guess the moral is whole wheat products cost more if it's cheap and claims to be whole wheat it's probably made from floor sweepings from the whole wheat flour factory or something.

No whole wheat crust pizza for me. My wife tries to get me to eat whole wheat bread all of the time and I don't particularly like it. I just like the same old white bread that we ate for years. Thanks for warning us so I will be on guard against whole wheat pizza. The next thing they will be making it out of sawdust.

Some whole wheat bread doesn't taste too bad but some tastes like sawdust and is very course.

I have actually. My mother has often made home-made pizzas using whole meal flour because she feels better about giving us something a little healthier! I have to say that it was delicious! Yes it is different from normal pizza that is usually cooked on a white-bread base, but for me it was no different to having say brown bread rather than white bread. Pizza is pizza to me!

Yes, I have ate this wheat dough one and also once I have prepared it at home. It is very healthy and beneficial for health. I think instead of white flour one must eat wheat. It has not ruined the taste. I think there would be something missing in your dough. Have you added some baking soda and some refined oil while making a dough? If you did so, it must not have ruined the taste. I think this pizza is more delicious. Just try again. I am sure this time it gonna taste well.

I love whole wheat bread, but not the kind you buy in the store. I wonder if they use the same kind of dough. I think it has to be 100 percent whole wheat with none of the gluten in it. I will try something, but it has to be made right. So I was wondering what brand it was or whether it was the store's own brand? I find that sometimes the store's own brand is not that good compared to the regular name brand ones. I would try a multi=grain pizza though.

I have never had a pizza with a whole wheat dough before, but my favorite blog here on myLot is a food blog where the guy uses only whole wheat dough for his pizzas. The toppings sound really good, but I am not sure about the whole wheat crust either. My sister makes a pizza dough that does have some whole wheat flour in it, but it has white flour in it as well. It is pretty good, but I do like plain old pizza crust better.

I think it would probably taste better if it just had half wheat flour and half regular.

That's too bad & i'm sure it was more expensive. I have seen them but haven't tried them. I have also seen the whole wheat pasta but haven't tried that either. I know it's suppose to be better for u. I do like whole wheat bread.

It sounds healthy. Never tried pizza made with whole wheat dough. And I'm trying to imagine how worst would taste like when it comes to pizza --- I don't think I'd want to try it. Thanks for sharing the experience.
