Hi, friend. Virus infections are quite general. Most of the viruses have impact on the speed of the computer but some may be really dangerous and need active attention. In order to protect my computer from virus attacks, I use these important ways: - Install a good antivirus system with regular updates. - Use restore points to restore the system to prevoius state if the system is infected -Regularly scan your computer in boot phase - If your antivirus is not able to heal or delete the virus, format the system drive so that other drives are not infected.

Thanks, friend, for your note of caution. From now on, I will check the restore points. By the way, I prefer to scan the system in boot phase rather than in safe mode, beacuse if the virus infects a system process associated with OS host service, then it will be loaded in safe mode also. Happy mylotting!!

I think there is no need to format the system drive if ur antivirus is not able to delete/heal it. most viruses create a registry or some others functions too, which can be healed by manual efforts. Just found the exe or other file opened by it,and search its manual removal on search engine.

i'm having that problem right now with trying to fix my system. The first thing I did was try to find it on the local hard drive. When that didn't work, i started asking around on here on myLot about the ways to fix it. One thing is us the SPYBOT search and destroy. That seem to help more than anything. I'm not sure what to do next, but I've been told to use the registry cleaners and adware software that is out there as well. I had McAfee downloaded on my computer and it didn't find the adware so you need something that will help you find it.

best way to protect is make use of the antivirus such as antivir which is free to install but see that u\you always update your antivirus software from net this helps in detecting the new viruses. If you don't update your antivirus than your computer may be at risk.

Hi friend, An antivirus installation and its regular updation is not a perfect solution of saving your system from malicious things. If you require more security you have to use firewalls and anti-malwares too. Enjoy mylotting.

Infections don't necessarily have to be very bad. We all get infected a few times a week but mostly the antivirus software automatically detects and removes the viruses. When the viruses have a negative effect on your computer then it's recommendable tleo scan your computer. Any positives must be removed and then most problems should be solved. Scanning your computer on malware is recommendable as well since malware are sometimes causing your computer to behave awkward as well and is easily confused with viruses.

Hi friend, these are the ways of securing you computer before the virus would not attacked ur comp or would not started to infact your system. Once it started all scanning, updation all r in vain as mostly virus told the antiviruses or malwares that we r friends.

Depends on the situation usually I can remove a virus on my system in an hour or so with basic antivirus and other various tools. But sometimes just like this week a buddy of mine got a huge virus wouldnt let him do anything it was a rouge anti virus wouldnt let any program or anything run and in order to get rid of it I spent 3-5 hours of running scans from my computer ---- His HDD and then When I was able to get on then I stayed disconnected from internet ended all "odd" proccess that seemed fishy to me ran all scanners he had got rid or more bits and pieces then I downloaded hijack this on my computer put it on his looked at those logs and took those out. The virus took out some important windows files so I reinstalled windows XP not a clean install it just reinstalled windows and when that finished I updated everything ran them again and it was squeaky clean. A little personal if you ask me but to sum up if its basic just run the Anti Virus and all the other stuff you have IF not yoiu may just have to do some complicated stuff or take it to a repair shop I only once had to take my old old computer to the shop and that was when I knew little about computers.

That's some good advice. I also had a service online about two years ago when I had this same problem. They done the first set of advice for free and then after that you had to pay whatever the technician charged you for the services. It was good because i think this was when I had to put Vista on a XP. It had XP before the hard drive was wiped completely out and it took the OS out too. ANyways they helped a great deal. I just don't have money to use a technician.

always place your computer in safe mode with networking ( hit f8 when you turn your computer on ) and ( look for safe mode with networking ) , and the go in and scan ur computer for viruses , because , i find alot of e, espicallly malware , theyre forever getting on your nerves with the annoying pop ups and crashing ur comptuer turning the screen blue , the only reason i get malware is from downloading albums from blog sites or downloading period , right now i have Malwarebyte Anti Malware i never had , Norton Anti Virus before on my computer so i wouldnt kno how that works
