Would you really want to live a celebrity lifestyle, given the lack of privacy?

Hello friends, We all have dreamed of living a lavish lifestyle some time or the other, may be like a David Beckham, C. Ronaldo or Arnold Schwarzenegger or someone else. The fact is that they cannot go out for a walk on the streets because of their popularity. They can't hang around with their friends at their favourite public places. Given these limitations, would you still want to step into their shoes? Is the money sufficient compensation for loss of privacy? I might have answered "yes" a few years back but now, I would answer NO. Nothing is more important to me than freedom.

I dreamed of having the life of a Celebrety when I was a kid, but now I'm not that crazy anymore. Yes, celeb earn a sh*t lot of Money, but they basiclly trade their lives for that. Nowdays, there isn't even ONE Celebrety who has a private life! They go out, and immediately are surrounded by eighter Paparazzi,Fans or Stalkers/Idiots, most of the time they're surrounded by all of them...that doesn't like a life I want to have. New "hot" celebs can't even go out and have dinner with a friend without reading/hearing the next day, that they are a couple, because they have been seen together. They can't trust anybody, can't go anywhere... I prefer to just earn my extra money through mylot.

I dont like to live that live whom cannot enjoy sundry things of life. I think common people are more free than those celebraty. We , common people can enjoy every aspect of life , we can enjoy rain in open, roaming in open. According to me we common people are more rich than those celebrity who are unable to enjoy little things of life. I am free, i am happy .. Happy mylotting!!

Thanks Jai for echoing my views. We all love our freedom. @Dr. Pain: Yeah, the thought of having so much money and attention is tempting but it will come at a huge price. It is all up to the individual, what does he rate higher. Thanks for dropping by friends

Have you gave it some thought how rich and important you would be in others eyes? You wouldn't want the attention?

I do not believe I want the life of a celebrity, it seems to come with a high price, and not just freedom but they also lose touch with reality.

Hello Shelly, You're right. My freedom is too high a price to pay for celebrityhood. I want to be grounded and enjoy life with my friends and family.

Hello Pat, I knew at least you would be on my side on this one, and you didn't let me down :) We all love our privacy and freedom. Even I'm somewhat an introvert and would easily go unnoticed in a room of ten people and I like to be that way.

Hi Jsh...from time-to-time, especially when young, I think many of us daydream a bit about what it would be like to be famous. But in reality, seeing what those who are truly famous go through, and however wealthy, those wonderful every-day things they must give up, NO. I would never want to be famous. I value my privacy and my ability to come and go as I wish far too much to long for fame. Karen

Hello PeacefulWmn, Well, your name itself tells me that you would rather like to live in peace than be rich and have people chasing you every time you go out to have a good time with friends. We all mature as we grow up and our dreams change.

I would really want to have their lifestyle. I mean the perks, the benefits, the free stuff, the VIP access and treatment, but I would not accept that if the price is giving up my anonymity, seeing my name/face all over the place, people calling out to me who I really dont know. Though it can be good to inspire someone by what Im doing but still there are other ways of inspiring someone other than being a public celebrity.

Well, I don't think privacy is really an issue here. It has to do with the personality. Some people love & crave the attention of the public. I do believe they can lead a private life if they really want. I've met some of the "celebrities" & some of them are in fact really down to earth type of person. I was in downtown Philly at a popular restaurant once & ran into Will Smith. His parents live in one of the buildings in river front. Few people went upto him while he was having dinner with his parents & he actually told them in polite way that he was having dinner with his parents & it was his time with his family & he'd like to be left alone. Nobody else bothered him for the rest of the night. You just gotta be upfront about it & most people will respect your privacy. Being a celebrity doesn't mean you have to give up your freedom.

Hello sk66rc, You're so very right. In fact I had not paid attention to this point while starting the discussion. All of us are different and some are not as shy of the camera as I am.Hence, it would be so nice if people considered our requests for being left alone. Sadly, here in India a mob would gather in no time

I have also thought about living a celebrity lifestyle. I think I would want the lifestyle but not the publicity, but I guess the two go hand in hand. I really like my privacy as well so I don't think I would be able to deal well with the constant intrusion in my life, especially the paparazzi. I would rather just live a comfortable life so that I don't have to worry about bills all the time.

Hello Krayzietam, Yeah, all the celebrity money minus he publicity would be he ideal thing anyone would want. Sadly, as you mentioned, both go hand in hand and that's the reason I would also not opt for celebrity lifestyle.

I would rather opt for my freedom rather than all that popularity or wealth. The popularity and all would become meaningless if my privacy is taken away and there are cameras or paparazzi here and there wherever I go.

No I wont. I dont fancy people going through my trash just to find something valuable they can auction off. I dont like being stalked by paparazzi. I dont even like to be recognise on streets and getting stopped for photographs! What if I dont look good that day? I prefer to live a quiet and peaceful life like what I have now.

i agree with you,but right i think i will try my best to give up the freedom, and make my life better, because right now, living is the most important thing ,and when things go better,i thhinki will go back to where i can help the weaker.

Nope. I'd much rather just have a ton of money and not be a celebrity. All the press over em is pretty stupid, and I'd rather go without all the press that surrounds them.

No way. I value my privacy to much. I know that money would be grat but I don't know if I could handle the cameras and the gossip and the fact nothing would ever be private again. It is a lot harder life than people think.

I would love to be famous. it all depends on what you title is. Take the famous Jay-Z! He hangs out in his old apt complex and shops in Brooklyn. Plus, not let us for get about wating what you do. As soon as you slip up and break the law or something to that nature then you become a victim to poperotzy.(if that the way you spell it)
