Now most of the new laptops are coming out of their factory installed with the Operating System, Windows Vista without considering the wishes of the buyers. Also such Laptops can not be installed with the other OS, easily and we need the help of some experts to change the OS and the basic users can not do that. Will it help to the Microsoft to market their new OS? It seems most the users are against the Vista. In this situation will this affect the sale of Laptops or the brand image of Laptop manufactures as well the Microsoft?

Hi, my friend. It won`t affect the laptop sales. Rather, it will boost the profit of Microsoft as most will be using genuine operating systems now.
Firstly, I don`t think there is a problem with Vista. I bought my HP laptop installed with Vista and it runs smoothly. My friends have also switched from XP to Vista and none of them seems to be complaining because now there is ample support for vista.
Seecondly, I have installed fedora on my laptop easily alog with Vista. There is no need of an expert. The problem with installing other OS in such laptops is just because of one single drive. You can make more drives and in vista the new drives can be created easily wihtout a need to format the system.
So, I think its a good step. Happy Mylotting!!

Here, we are loosing the opportunity choosing the operating system of our interest. If they install the OS as per our interest, then there will be no problem as windows xp is the widely accepted OS and it is more favorable than vista. Though vista is having much performance than XP, they are failing to satisfy the customers needs by forcing their new OS, without our concern. Vista is not supporting higher level software related to data warehousing. But it is sure, vista will be enhanced in future to suit all the software and it will find its own place as like now xp is having. Thanks for your detailed explanation and response.

No I don't think it effect Microsoft or Laptop manufacturers much. just because of Vista reason, very few are going to choose another brand of laptop. I did buy laptop even if I wasn't wish to buy Vista. but that's the fact that 9/10 won't reject laptop brand choice just for OS.

If we decided to buy a laptop, at any cost we are going to but, irrespective of the OS installed and we are going to change , even with difficulty and we never going to use what ever they give. But , what my issue is, we are the buyers, we should decide what should our laptop have..Is it not? They should not force us to use the OS which is not familiar with us. The major issue with the vista is its numerous interactive windows. It is very difficult to respond to such windows while working seriously. Thanks for sharing your view in this issue.
