My husband just recently deployed for Afghanistan, and i found out i was pregnant with our second child the morning he was leaving. We already have a 9 month old, and hes refused to let me work because he feels i should stay home and take care of the children, its cheaper that way because child care is outrageous. But i really want to get a job now. We dont make nearly enough to get by and we're living paycheck to paycheck while hes overseas!! I was wondering if anyone knows where i could find a job while im pregnant? I was working at mcdonalds, but my second day on the job i was overheated and i passed out. Needless to say, they wont let me work anymore, understandably. Any suggestions?

How pregnant are you? Are you big enough that employers can tell? Regardless, it's illegal (at least in the US) to discriminate against you and not hire you somply because you're pregnant. I've always worked while I was pregnant and never had many problems. McDonalds is a REALLY hard job, even for a totally healthy person. I can see why you passed out there. I worked there when I was 17 and being on my feet that much almost killed me then...I can't imagine if I had been pregnant. My favorite job I had while pregnant was delivering pizzas. You're not on your feet too much because most of your time is spent driving around. The tips are great too. Whenever I would deliver to a house with kids I would comment on how cute they were and rub my tummy and say something like "only a few more months for me and I'll have one of my own." People threw money at me! lol. The daycare issue is tricky though. Making minimum wage plus tips is not going to cover daycare expenses. Do you have any other resources for childcare? Friends or family? I have been where you are and I know it really sucks. I hope all works out for you.

Well im 3 months pregnant right now, but its so much harder this time for some reason. Keeping up with my 9 month old and wanting to throw up just doesnt work well together. lol, But i was never really sick with my daughter! Her pregnancy was so easy, i worked the whole time, no problems, i even had her naturally! But this one all i do is throw up. Its ridiculous. My sister said she could watch the baby for me, but once my husband gets home from his deployment, we're going back to where hes stationed, and i dont know anyone there. I wouldnt mind trying being a pizza delivery person, maybe at dominos or pizza hut? but isnt it hard finding the houses? haha. i would have to get a gps or something. and do they let you have maternity leave at all? Even though im only 3 months pregnant, im already showing good enough where strangers ask how far along i am, so i try and wear shirts big enough where people cant tell so much yet.
