I personally dislike pretty much all windows OS's because they are too buggy and I dont like macs at all because there is too much hype about them and their design doesnt really please me. I really like the linux OS because there are so many branches of it that you can choose one that fits you. Right now I use ubuntu, damn small linux, and other ones i cant remember right now but let me tell you that they are all fast and very nice. Plus there is many things you can do to customize them.

I am using XP operating system.I find it good as it has good looks. Also i have security with the firewall i got with the service pack two. Also my computer doesn't crash often.I don't need to do a drive error check when the system gets hanged.Vista is also a good operating system but people have found many faults with it.I would love to use the windows 7 operating system.

I am using XP on my desktop, but have got a laptop that uses Vista. Out of the two, I prefer XP. It seems faster and more stable. vista has this habit of re-booting without asking me first. And quite often can freeze. It can't be what I have on the system, because I have very little on there and only use my laptop for Internet and e-mail when I am away. XP will win with me every time, until Vista has improved, but now Microsoft bringing out another one! - Derek

Hi Kumar, I am using Debian Linux Operating System. I don't like Vista or XP, though I have all installed in my laptop. I use Vista when necessary. I am use to Debian and I love it. I find this OS more easy, convenient and hassle free. Yes, Vista is no doubt good, but personally I prefer Debian Linux. Thanks.

i have both vista and xp but i find vista to be the most conveinent. It uses less ram and well it is just microsofts best os ever. I prolly will switch to 7 eventually. i have a dual boot with both xp,vista, and ubuntu linux.

When I bought my new laptop I had no choice but to have it with vista. There was no other option. I don't like it. Sure some things are neat, but it really feels very patronizing. Living me with less choices - although I can go around some of them but why waste time? I still have Xp in my desktop and I prefer that one. It's not perfect but still better than Vista.

Hello, I prefer windows xp. I have used windows vista, but somehow I do not like it, even with the 2 gigs RAM, with 3 or more applications open, it gave me problems of slower and lower performance. Then I sihfted back to windows xp and the performance is superb....my vote goes to windows xp...cheers...

Hi, I am used to neither vista nor Linux and therefore my thing is Windows XP. I think this is the most popular OS.

Hi! being a tech support/technician.... i would advise win xp for my customers since it is already tested for quite some times. thou, it still depends on how the cust will use the computer. For convenience and compatibility purposes, it is still advisavble to use xp than vista, since there are still many bugs for vista still even after microsoft released some patches already....

I just transfer to vista in my new laptop recently. i also used xp on desktop to do my everyday job. As i am a new vista user, i can not feel any superior over xp except that vista is more colorful and the beam of vista is softer than xp.As a long time xp user, i am famliar with xp and experience less problem. Additionally, xp operating system is less required memory. Vista would take four times memory space than xp system. In i prefer vista. Thanks your discussion. Have a good time on mylot!

I am using both XP-pro with sp3 and Fedora 10. Utilizing both is a nice pleasure. As both of them combindly give me easeness of Microsoft and openness of LINUX. Happy Mylotting.

I am currently on my mothers laptop with vista - I am not a fan - My desktop runs xp, as it is set up the way Ilike and I see no point in changing, and my personal Laptop runs Windows 7 as I'm testing it. So far it seems fine and I will probably continue using it on my laptop but not my main PC until microsoft discontinues support of xp

Since I have Vista for my laptop I am accustomed to it already. It has alot of flaws to it but overall the operating system is okay. Vista is just like XP but a bit more complicated with a few things that its not hard to be accustomed to it.

We have been using Windows XP for quite a long time. The technician that fixes our computer suggests that XP is still better than the new one which is Vista.

HI buddy I use Vista ultimate and im comfortable with Vista...its main features are reliability, speed and security and other graphical features like aero and flip 3d..the only drawback is that it occupies some memory and blue screen dumping error comes often.. but if we upgrade RAM we can overcome that problem..xp has no security comparing vista but vista and xp both are user friendly only thing you need higher configuration for vista but normal configuration for xp...Hope windows7 has more features comparing both....this post is repeated in MYLOT..I myself created similar kinda posr few days back...jus check out b4 creating topics like this nd if u find more topics repeated and ppl replying for that repeated topics they may lose money and star rating..Happy mylotting

Hi! I used XP for the longest time before my laptop crashed (unrelated to the XP system). I had heard so many bad things about Vista, but I couldn't find a laptop with XP when I went to get a new one, so I ended up with Vista. Some things on it are more organized...and you have options to switch to XP views, etc...but you do have to choose that option every single time you go into the Control Panel and other places. I do find many new features on Vista very confusing. For example...I find it very hard to find "My Documents" in Vista than I did in XP, and I love to write novels a lot, so this gets a little irritating to the point I just leave my stories up and running at all times so I know where they are. There have also been instances where I simply cannot find something I know exists on my computer, and have to resort to using the "Search" option. The programs list gets very confusing as well. For people who are pretty computer savvy, I think the differences may be an irritation, but to people like my father who just started getting into computers--I would never recommend it. It could be very hard to use!

I use vista. I think its is somewhat slow at times but it also has a more user frendly feel to it. If I had to chose between XP or vista I would chose vista just for user friendlyness. though I wouldn't mind trying out the new windows 7 if its out yet. and linux might be fun to try but I wouldn't ever want to use it permanently

Never offically use VISTA in my own computers, neither desktop or laptop. Just used a some minutes in other computers for VISTA. VISTA is too hardware source consuming and its compatibility has a long way to go. XP is good enough as least to now. VISTA is more improved on UI and just to show Microsoft's designing is not bad comprared with APPLE. So, Microsoft may be too self-confident about the techonology of itself but has not taken seirously about the feeling from customers.
