ever looked at it from another angle..?
firstly the miss call thin is predominant among STUDENTS,
young ppl, hu love to be "in-touch" wit friends all the time...
now msgn is a more sensible option, but hey, that doesnt make the 'miss-call' BAD...ITS jus A CHEAPER WAY OF SAYIN HI..!

Sometimes I give a miss calls but only if I have to convey any message and if I think that calling is not that important at this time.

Missed calls are an effective means of communicating... very good signalling mechanism. and its free

I know some people in india give missed calls in india and make a joke out of it, in civilised culture, but u have an option to block the number
