I agree. In fact, I have observed that most households only have landlines if they're using DSL for their internet connection. Besides, a mobile phone is handy and it's fun.

Not trying to get technical or nit-pick here but as far as your title goes, aren't they the samething? Cell phone or Mobile phone? Isn't it like saying 6 of one or 1/2 dozen of the other? Almost like when the pager was popular, almost everybody called it a "beeper" because it beeped. That being said, if you mean the difference between cell phones & landline phones, I definately agree. I haven't had a landline phone for about 17 years. Last time I remember having a landline phone, that I actually used, was when I was 20 years old. I mean, I still have landline coming into my house because I have DSL for internet service but I have $8 corded phone hanging on my kitchen wall with its ringer turned off & I have an answering machine hooked up in my bedroom. My landline phone bill comes out to around $50/month after taxes & fees, around $35 for DSL interenet & $15 for having a phone line. Every so often, my daughter gets a phone call at home from her friend.
