In my case is that the only people who taught me how to cook rice were my mother and my uncle during my summer vacation when i was like 12 years old which i'm the only one who prepare very good rice among with my siblings (most of my siblings were either lazy, bored, or don't know how to cook). How about you? Please tell us your story about this. Happy mylotting!

before we only use a normal cooking pot to cook rice. you have to open the pot when the rice starts to foam, wait for it to settle down then cover the pot again. you also have to watch it to prevent overcooking. i've never tried that method. we only acquired a rice cooker over a year ago, and that's when i learned how to cook. the rice cooker manual taught me how. lol

I also cook rice in a normal cooking pot and in a rice cooker as well, for some reason that other are other people cook rice by the manual (which means that you're not alone at all). Anyways that thank you for sharing your thoughts!

every person learns it from his/her mother. I am no exception. it is very rare to find someone learning cooking rice from someone other than mother. My mother is a great cook. Learning to Cook Rice was just a beginning. I have learnt lots and lots of recipes from her. In fact, now I have my own blog on cooking and one of the primary inspiration behind this is my mother. Thank you mom for all the support you have given. Regards, Kavitha. P.S.:- My mother, even at the age of 66, still relishes trying new recipes.

My mother taught me how to cook rice when I was like 10 or 11 years old. I am the one assigned to cook rice in the house while my brother is assigned on other chores.

I cook as my mother taught me. Rice is the staple food of the Chinese family dinner table, people generally like to eat new rice because of its fragrant rice with Qingchun. In fact, eat the fragrant smell of rice, not necessarily take a new rice, with tea and cooking can get color, smell and taste superb meals. The most amazing is that tea also go tired of cooking, cleaning mouth, of food and disease prevention benefits. According to nutritionists research, often tea boiled rice, 4 kinds of diseases can be prevented.

Rice is one of the hardest meals to cook, at least for me (and my wife hehe). I've never tried to cook rice before getting married and neither had my wife. Her mom and my mom both taught us how to cook it but it's hard to make it right. The last time I was the one who tried to cook it and I think I finally got it, but I have to wait and see if I can cook it right the next time.
