Hi people, I got a problem with my eyes. The Ophthalmologist said, when I had my last check up I had an astigmatism and I am a near sighted person. So, she told me to wear an eyeglasses which is so hassle. I followed what she prescribed, but then even though I'm wearing my eyeglasses still headache always strikes me. I can still feel the pain. I still suffer for it. How about you guys? Do you have an astigmatism? What are the things that you do in order to prevent from it?Thanks ahead.

hi, I have astigmatism and I am near sighted so I'm wearing eyeglasses for the astigmatism because if I'm not wearing it all the time i feel like vomiting or having a headache. i have been wearing glasses for more than 10 years. Now i have two eyeglasses, one for seeing far and one for computer and reading. Well, my astigmatism slightly declined i don't know why because one doctor said it will not heal because I'm getting older and i still abuse my eyes by staring at computers and books most of the time. sometimes I forget to wear my working glasses as I call it because it's really a hassle to change from one eyeglasses to another. But I really do get my working glasses when I feel that I'm about to be cross-eyed statring at the computer for sometime

I do have an astigmatism but I did not follow doctor's order to wear eye glasses but I do ahve them when I need them badly. Like you, I find it a hassle and it is bad wearing glasses all the time. As for the headache, chances are the grade of your glass is either low than what you need or higher. Meaning, you have to go back to where you purchase your eyeglasses and ask them to adjust it according to your eye sight. Headaches are indications that there's still something wrong with your eyes.

I have astigmatism. In my case, it's genetic because my mother has it. I can't do anything about it but i don't wear eyeglasses even if i have one. I had headaches but now it's not as often than before. I just don't read when I'm lying on my bed or when there is little light or both. Also, I rest or just close my eyes for a little while when I feel like it's really stressed. Eyes really need it.

I too have slight astigmatism in my right eye. My doctor prescribed me with glasses to use when I am on the computer and for reading. At first I did not know if I would ever get used to them since I do not normally wear glasses, but after a while I was fine. It helps with eye strain quite a bit. I still get the occasional headaches but nothing too bad.

i too wear glass and have the same near sight as you have but i dont feel pain and the main thing is you do feel pain at the start as you are not aquainted to the glasses you are putting on now you need some eye drops to clear them everyday and put them on all the time that would reduce the pain you are having

Hi, I too have astigmatism. But I have no such problem as experienced by you. I may deduce that most probably your ophthalmologist give the wrong prescribed glasses to you. Are the degrees the right power? Look for second opinion. It is free consultation. If it is the same power, then consult a medical doctor or a heart doctor. God bless you.

I've had an astigmatism for 20+ years. I wear contacts and glasses, glasses obviously when I'm not wearing contacts. I don't suffer from mine at all. My fiance has the same problem, wears glasses and has no issues whatsoever. Just do what your eye doctor tells you to and you'll be fine.

I have a astigmatism to. I found out a couple weeks ago. I now have bifocals. I knew something was wrong cause my vision has been blurry for almost 5 years. Ive been having horrible headaches and taking pain pills for it. Since I got the glasses ive been trying to wear them (but it is hard getting used to them) and the headaches are getting better. I don't wear them all the time, but I try to. I don't like to wear glasses, but I guess I have to.

Yes I have an astigmatism.. But I do not wear glasses, I did when I was a teenager and it gave me those headaches... So my solution is no glasses.. Why? Well I look at it this way, if I do not need them to drive, and I can manage with everything else, why go through the hassle of glasses? Haven't worn glasses for 11 years... I found out that I had it when I was 14... Also I take vitamins and I believe they help my eyes too..

I'm not sure about astigmatism, but for shortsighted people, once you have a pair of glasses to remedy your vision, you just can't live without the glasses unless you have a surgery, and the degree will be higher and higher. I can't understand why the doctors say the glasses can remedy coz they make the situation worse and worse.
