Sunburn!

When was the last time you got a sunburn? I got one on my back yesterday when we went to the pool. It still hurts a lot. Reminds me of when I was a kid. People constantly warned that I'd end up with a burn, but I didn't listen. I'm treating it with a special sunburn lotion. What do you use to treat sunburn?

I last got sunburn last year on my face after swimming outside for 5 hours. They have something called ocean potion that I heard works but I had always used vinegar although it smelled awful. Something my granny made me use when I was younger. But aloe will sooth it also.

I'm using that Ocean Potion. Well, I was, my sunburn is tolerable now.

LOL I burn every time I'm outside. I use Cool Aloe ICE with Lidocaine, the only reason I know this is because it sits right by my chair since I am always burned. I burn with SPF 45 on, so I'm pretty use to it now.

I use something similar, I think it's called Ocean Potion, we've had it for awhile. I always burn when I don't put sun block on, and I never put sun block on myself! I worry more about the kids, and after lotioning up 5 kids I just want to have fun and not worry about lotioning myself.

A few years ago I went to a friends' son football game. I was so busy watching him play I didn't notice my right arm was burning. It was pretty bad. I used this aloe lotion I found at walgreens.

The last time I got sunburn was when on holiday in Florida - we went to the beach and I got burnt even though I had been applying suncream I had just no shade and so still got burnt - it was horrible but, thankfully it wasn't as bad as we initially thought and had calmed down by the end of the following day! x

My husband got a really bad sunburn on his back about 2 weeks ago and we used Solarcaine spray. My kids have very fair skin so they burn really easy...I always try and have some of this spray in the house just in case. I am a fanatic about putting sunscreen on them so, thankfully, it doesn't happen very often. I also have an aloe vera gel I keep in the fridge so I can put that on them. Hope your burn starts feeling better soon, the first few days are always the worst!

HI Kats: OUch! Been there done that!! They used to sell the best stuff at Walmart called GReen STuff I think was the name it had ALOE in it and it had such a cooling effect to it; look for something like that or maybe one of the sunburn sprays OTC at the pharmacy or if you can stand the smell of vinegar soak in that in a nice cool tub at least since the worse I guess is on your back the vinegar will help it...It stinks like crazy but don't wash it off now, just pat yourself dry and do it as often as you can in the next couple of days...ok?? Good luck to you!

I already have the sunblock treatment, it's blue stuff, I've used it for years. I'll be fine by tomorrow, it only takes me 2 days to get over a sun burn so I don't worry about it much.

I can't remember the last time I had a bad sunburn. I got a light one on my shoulders the other day when we were outside with the kids. Other than that I don't usually get burnt too bad. We usually use aloe for our sunburns. It usually helps pretty good.

My skin type is like that it easily gets sun burn. But it is not that serious. It does not burn later. Simply the skin gets blacken. There are lotion to prevent or to lessen the effect.

I usaully treat is with really thin mosturised such as after suns gells or creams. however if they are too think for my skin I will dilute them. Last year I got sunburn on my feet so bad that I had quite large sections of skin just die, I found cold water helped to relieve the pain but you can't stay in it too long you whatever's in there will swell up (I found that out on the second day when I ended up having to go feet in bandages to the grocery store). Try to keep your back covered up well for the next couple of months to reduce the chance of developing milignant melonomas (a very agressive form of cancer)

Aside from applying special sunburn lotion, don't forget to drink plenty of water too.

put baby oil or lotion so that it will be moisturized and the hurting may cease a bit.
