Do you think education is important in landing a good job or Knowledge about the job with out a education. Some people have master degrees and are working at jobs they never went to school for in the first place You can hire a person with a master degree but will they know how to do the work?

For some of us who are older and wiser, now, realize that a good educationi does help in landing a good job, and certainly the pay is better. Years ago, it wasn't a priority to go to College, but today, it is more emphasized, and required by more businesses. I just wish more employees would recognize that the years of experience is also important. Those of us who are from the old school, can often provide something different than the young people just starting out .

education. they say that the best gift that parents can give to their children is to educate them. education is one of our parents greatest legacy to us. education is a right too and should not only be a privilege. everyone has the right to learn. for me, education is really important. when we were still kids our parents are our first teachers. that is the start of our education. when we are of the right age they send us to school. then our teachers become our second parents. aside from our homes, the school is where we spend most of time. it is where we are molded and we learn about life. education is not only important in molding our minds, it also shapes our character. if you are an educated person, you have greater opportunities as compared to a simpleton who can't even read or write. that's why, education is very important.

I finished highschool, but did not go any further, whereas my husband has a number of degrees, and still takes courses when something that interests him comes up. We both know that formal education is not for everyone, and we have no problems in our relationship because of our different levels of education.

higher education should never be frowned upon as I personally would never change my kids minds if they wanted to go to uni etc. But I honestly believe that higher education isnt that important in the real world so to speak. Aslong as people can read and write and have a decent level of school education then they can do whatever they want. I have worked with a lot of people with degree's in a chosen field who have no concept of the real working world and dont last 5 minutes in a job. Where as I have found the best people are the people who have experience and no degree.

Hi imgrandma, I believe in education for educations sake, to enrich the brain and to develop ideas. I never took to the sceinces but loved to study things like history, geography and literature. These subjects inspire an interest in the world around us, and introduce us to fascinatingly different cultures. Whilst achieving good grades is important the love of learning is the key thing and stays with one for life. A well rounded education prepares people for jobs in later life.

It depends on what kinds of jobs? In some special professions ,such as medicine, high scientific research, educaiton may be more important. When you have a master or doctor, you can got emploied easier. But in most jobs, working experience may be more important than education. A master or a doctor diploma justifys your education experience or learnig ability not the working cabability. They should prove their ability by their work not the diploma In our daily work, it is very common to see that the master or the doctor is not so good as we expected. That's my opinion, although i am a master. Thanks your discussion. Have a good time on mylot.

Well, I think landing yourself with one good job doesn't always depend on education you gain. We may see a lot of rich people become rich without having any prestigious degree. =) I believe each person has differnet skills, different education background (with or without). As long as they have any related skill, I believe they know how to do the work without any obligation to obtain degree.
