Recently I got quite a number of friend requests here at mylot. I approved all of them but I did not check their profiles before doing so. Later on,I thought about this. Was I wrong in approving the requests without visiting the person's profile? I mean,is there any danger involved in approving everyone? What do you generally do when you get friend requests? Do you approve all of them or do you deny some? If you do the latter on what basis do you disapprove the request? May be I could get some guidance from experienced users here. Happy mylotting.:)

So far, I accept all the friend request. They are many reasons for others to add us as friends. I think no harm we accept the request. Once we accepted the friend request, we can keep track on their activities at Mylot. In the other hand, I also add others as friends.

Yes I agree there is no harm in interacting with more and more people in a lovely community such as mylot. If we accept more friends we can see the discussions they are starting and participate too.So we get a lot of options in hand. :-)

I will approve all of it, without looking much into details. Is there any danger of doing so? I hope not.

Hi oindy54 :) Yes, I accept all friend requests. I don't check their profiles first because I don't think it makes much of a difference. I think the only thing your friends can do that others can't is PM you (I think that's all) so I don't think it matters much who you approve or not. Hope this helped :) Have a great day!

Certainly it helps! Thank you so much for letting me know that there is not much harm in approving without looking at the profile. But of course as someone mentioned,I would never approve one with a provocative image in his or her profile. :-)

Hi oindy, at first as a newbie a approved all friend requests but now I check to see if we have interests in common, if they respond to discussions they have started and if some of their discussion started would make me want to reply. So now I deny requests sometimes as I know I would prefer to have quality rather than quantity of friends. Also if you use the 'friends started' tab for topics of interest I don't want it littered with topics which are likely not to appeal to me.

For me, I always approve all my friend request, I think the more friends, the better. They will response to your discussions and help you to make money, and they will give you good advice on your problem. I also do not check their personal profile, only when I am curious about one certain person, I will do so.

I approve all my friend request so far because, I love networking. I have no time honestly to read profile and I would think who I am approving are good people that we can help out one another now and again. Sometimes you have to go with the flow and don't think about it.

Hi oindy, I do have friend requests every now and then. I usually would approve all of them. I would check their profile if I have time. It’s really interesting to learn more about our new friends. I don’t think there is any risk to add more friends in the list. After the approval I usually would turn on the notify button beside their avatars. If they keep on starting new discussions and don’t have any interest in my topics I would then turn off the button. I dislike seeing my mailbox to pile up with tons of new discussions which will make me to feel dizzy I’m afraid that they will cover all the discussions started by my mutual friends. I like to have mutual interaction with my friends. I like to pick discussions from responders in my discussions as well. Of course there must be interesting topics available in their profiles. Happy posting and have a nice day!

I approve almost all friend request, as I still remember when I was new on the site, I was longing for having friends. And those posting the requests are mostly share similar values. And with the linking mechanism, I can easily find their latest discussion, and may readily find their opinions and guidances, as well. However, part of my friends are not active any more. But I am reluctant to let go of them.

So far I have approved all friend requests. But I do see the person's profile before approving it. It is better to see the profile of the person before accepting the friend request that is what I feel.

Hi oindy54, I approve all friend request so far except 1. I didn't approve it because he use a provocative image as his/her avatar. It is under his/her right to use that image but it is also under my right not to approve his/her request. I hope he/she will not take it as an offense. It is okey to have a different view of some issues but it is best to keep it yourself. Happy mylotting and have a nice day.
