When a search engine is doing its thing... what does it crawl? The title of the site, the http:// URL of the site or the content of the site? What makes a site do page rank in Google or other search engine? In your opinion, what is the most important thing (other than content quality) to have to be found in a search engine or another site similar to your own?

The meta tags holding just a few essential and relevant keywords that should preferably also appear in the title but most definitely need to be present in the main body. However, content is not based on quantity but on quality. Descriptive tags that are relevant and a clean layout. The number of pages plays a role too as do quality back-links.

I don't know anything about meta tags or where to put them but I do know about keywords.. but which is searched... keywords in the title of the blog or keywords in the URL of the blog or keywords in the conten of the blog? And yeah, quality over quantity and I do try to keep things clean and easy to move around. I don't like going to complicated blogs myself so I dont' want that for my viewers!

If I may add to some what others said about content: fresh content is much better at drawing search engine spiders than content that has been copy and pasted. IE: it's ok to post a review about something, just make sure it's freshly written and in your own wording. Here's a good link you might want to check out. It's at w3 schools online. It will SHOW you exactly what a meta tag is, and where it's placed within an html document. Lots of info at this site you might want to check out and bookmark. http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_meta.asp

Use key words for what your site is about. What would someone be looking for on your site? Key words are extremely important. If you can, create meta tags on your site. They can be hidden from plain view. I did it once on some site I used to have but don't recall the details. The sites I have now don't offer that feature.

I don't know about meta tags, but keywords I do know about...but where is it best to put those keywords to be found for a top page rank.. in the title of the blog, the URL of the blog or in the content of the blog?

I'd go with all...title and content.
