I have heard that using deodrants and perfumes can make someone prone to cancer.I thought,it was just a part of the many whimsical and unreal things said by my friends to play pranks on me,beacause i use a lot of perfume and deodrants from a very young age.Is it true that these are ver carcinogenic.Im very worried about it.

I actually hadn't heard that...something else to worry about! Actually, I think the complexity of the products we use on our bodies and the food we eat is becoming a big problem. It's hard to vet every single ingredient as being safe or unsafe. As research continues, new dangers are always being revealed. I think the poster who suggested you look for a natural deodorant/perfume gave good advice. When push comes to shove, I'd rather use a product on my body composed of ingredients like the essential oils that have been used for centuries.

I have heard that if you shave the armpits, and then apply deodorant, there is a cancer risk. After I shave I wait at least 24 hours before using deodorant.

Stop worrying, there are natural choices for deodorants and perfumes and you can even learn to mix your own essential oils for the perfume essences that make you happy. It is not time to panic but become informed. Once you are informed of the ingredients in your deodorants, it is your choice what brand you feel most comfortable with. What a great adventure you are embarking on.
