Who Has Seen "The Cooler"?

This was a very good movie which didn't get much attention, as far as I know at least. It stars William H. Macy as a lifelong "loser" who works in Alec Baldwin's Las Vegas casino as a "cooler" - the guy whose job it is to "cool off" gamblers on a winning streak. It seems he's so unlucky he can make others lose just by standing next to them! That is, until he meets the beautiful cocktail waitress played by Maria Bello. I really enjoyed this movie and wished I hadn't waited so long to watch it since I'd recorded it a couple times on my DVR but then deleted it when I ran out of room before I'd gotten around to viewing it. It's definitely worth watching. Annie

Hey annie! That sounds like a really great movie! I will have to tell my boyfriend to look for it when he goes to get some DVD's! He is always bringing home the crapiest stuff he can find! This weekend he brought home Friday the 13th and I freaked! I refuse to watch that crap! I happen to like William H. Macy so I think I would enjoy this movie. I will definitely check it out even if I have to watch it myself on the computer!

Some men just have NO taste in movies! Sorry to all the guys here who may not fit this description but I think Opal's boyfriend and my husband sure do. Annie

You won't be sorry. It's one of those movies that has it all - humor, drama, romance and suspense - and it's beautifully acted. Annie

This movie actually sounds pretty humorous. I don't remember seeing it in theaters, when was it out? I love to gamble and play blackjack and I can't tell you the times when the table has been on a roll and someone walks up and just throws everything off. You don't think they were an undercover "cooler" do you? I'll have to keep an eye out for this movie, it's sounds entertaining.

I think it was 2003. Maybe "coolers" really do exist. I've always thought I was kind of my OWN cooler...lol! Annie
