How often should this be done ?

HI my lot, i am just looking for other opinions on this program using this program ccleaner, i downloaded it and installed it about a month ago and even then after installing and running it i had a goood clean out as it found quite alot, now i am thinking that i should run and clean out the clutter about once a month, is this ok do you think or to much or to less? any opinions my lot?

ccleaner only takes a few minutes to clean out extra junk and keep your computer running faster; so, we use it every day.

That's the nice thing about ccleaner - it only takes a minute or two to run; but, it gets rid of all the junk and clutter that can slow down your computer. Other programs seem to take forever to do the same function - so, you end up putting it off longer than you should.

well, cleaning after you using internet is a good thing cuz it helps you protect from cookies and virus. I would do once a week :).

THANKS, for your responce i feel like doing this cleanout right now but i want stay on here, i only did this easy 4 weeks ago maybe 5 not sure, i wil have it cleared out when i go to bed, i will leave it on all night.

In my view, it seems like take shower. If you feel uncomfortable, you will go to bathroom. And if you find your computer slow down just like someone keep off bathroom for days and now he is working hard in the garden with uncoordinated moves and acts, you should "shower" your computer. Then you will find it as if you buy a new one. I mean I consider it encouraging

I guess the kind of cleaning you are referring to is things like disk cleanup, temporary files and stuff like that. I do this myself and actually I do it on a weekly basis although you don't need to do it as frequently as this, it's your choice. The official recommendation is to clean your system at least once per month. It's not a big job to do and that's why I carry out this task on a weekly basis. I defragment my hard drive on a monthly basis though, to do this weekly well, this would take up too much time. Andrew

I think that you should probably clean out your computer probably about once a month. I don't really do much cleaning or anything to do with my clutter, I know it is bad, but I just don't have that much time. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

HI eliteuser, i have to agree with you in cleaning about once a month as i did clean out my comp after just over a month with the spybot s+d and lucky for me it found nothing and no problems (phhieeew) but with the ccleaner i have started using that every time i am logging of as it fills up with a lot of temporary junk and i have found that it is alot faster when logging on or off and starting windows, anyhow thanks for your reply, cheers.

ccleaner is a registry scanner if i remember correctly. I would say once a month be fine. but now since we are on this topic i am guessing that since you looked for this program you are wanting to speed up your computer. Well you should defrag about once every two weeks. Run a chkdsk every month. and also to make it start up faster you can go runmsconfigand take off all startup programs except the ones you need.

As I am browsing some traffic exchange sites, within one or two hours, I am able to see more than 50Mb of temp files in my system while cleaning. So I used to clean the system, except the recycle bib at least twice in a day. I am finding the improvement in the speed of the computer after every clean. As it takes less than a minute, cleaning will not interfere in our work in any way, we can do at least once in a day. Just we need to close the browser before cleaning.
