Operation to straighten leg?

Have you or someone you know had to have an operation to straighten their leg after being in a cast and not being able to straigten themselves through physio.
If so was it just a case of putting you to sleep and forcing it, or was it more complicated?

You really have to talk to a doctor about this as it may be different for different people.
