Do you RATE the responses to your discussions?

No, I am not talking about Best Response. I am talking about rating the responses that came in from your discussions. I never knew we could rate them until just recently. Apparently, we can rate our responses by clicking the + and - under each response. Now I know if I really like the responses that I received, I'll rate them positively, it will help to build the member's reputation and ensuring that they are earning better. However, I don't think I'll rate anyone negative as yet, unless of course, they are rude and vulgar! What about you? Do you know that you can rate the responses and have you been doing it all this while?

I would say that for the most part I do. Every once in a while I might forget but most of the time I do, usually as the responses come in if I am on line I will rate the response and then go and answer one of that person's questions. I try to be recriprical on here.

hi there. From today onwards, I'll make sure I rate my responses. I really appreciate all responses and if I see that they are worthy, I'll definitely rate them from now on. I like commenting back on my responses, it gives me that two way feeling of a real discussion taking place. :)

I have always rated the responses to my discussions, but I also rate the responses given to other discussions as well. I rate them positive. I feel that if they are going to take the time to respond, then they deserve a good rating. Of course I will rate those negative that post links in the discussions, and those that are rude and obnoxious. I would rather rate them positive than negative. I feel that by giving them a positive rating, it can help in their earnings as well. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Oh yes rosekiss. I despise those who gave out links to their personal benefit. Now I'll know what to do with them! LOL. I think it is good if generally people are kind in here. Why would anyone want to be rude as we are all nice people here, arent we? :)

Yes, this is one thing I do try and make sure I do everytime I am reading and responding back to someone who responds back in my discussions. I feel it helps me to get to know them better as well as giving them a chance to get known more and achieve a better rating as well. I feel that it is Very important to rate someone to get the word out for sure. If they are too negative in talking it helps to show others who they might be as well from Ratings as well.

KrauseHome, sometimes, I am just afraid that if I were to rate someone negatively, that person will 'haunt' me and make my life here in myLot miserable. Can they do that?

I do rate each and every reply of my discussion. Most of the replies I get were positive but some were nasty too. I think mylot has put this system to track all the users who are using mylot inappropriately.

Its nice to know that you are rating your responses. It makes things easier when we get positive responses. I do wish I'll never get nasty ones though. I never wish to need to use the negative ratings on anyone here in myLot.

Whenever I look at a discussion, I rate the topic before I respond, as it's so easy to forget about it later, when you add tags. I also read through the responses - or at least the first page - and rate those too. I only rate negative occasionally, and certainly not because someone has a different opinion to me. However, if someone posts links or anything else which is against Mylot guidelines, you should rate them negatively and, in extreme cases of violation or abuse, use the ! key to report either the member, the discussion or the response. Use the - and ! buttons sparingly, though. If a new member has violated guidelines, I usually point it out quite nicely and do not rate negatively. After all, everyone was new here once, and everyone deserves a chance to learn from their mistakes. The negative and reporting buttons are for persistent offenders.

I like you, you are nice to give the newbies a chance. I am still new too and if everybody is harsh I would have left myLot by now. Luckily myLotters are kind and are always willing to guide each other to perform better. I do encounter a few of links here and there but have so far done nothing with them. Now I know better what to do. I agree on the negative and reporting to be for persistent offenders only.

Fair enough, at least you are giving out best responses and commenting back on your responses. That is enough to show your responsers that you care. :)

The ratings I have done since I became a member of mylot. The person that I signed up under gave me all the pointers like that. Ratings, best responses, going in and commenting on friends photos, etc I rate either way, to get a negative from me though it has to be where the person is just being mean or out right ugly. If you have a difference of opinion, to me that is good, it makes a good discussion then. Different points of view is a good thing. Being mean or ugly isn't.

You are lucky to have a good 'upline' who tutored you to the max. I've never done commenting on photos yet though. Will try it once I'm more familiar here. After all, I've been here like, just a little bit after a week. I love getting different point of views in a discussion too. It makes it livelier. :)

I have not been able to give our Best Response to all my discussions yet. Mainly because for some of them, I havent find the best solution. Some I am still keeping it open for better ideas to come it. But I will give out Best Response even if I only get 2 responses if I really think that it is a good one. About rating a response, I'll try my best to do it though.

I just reply to people's comments. I don't pay much attention to their ratings.

Same here. I only knew about the rating a few days ago. Right now whenever I have free time I will go back to the discussions I have responded or started and rate the ones I think positive.

thank you for sharing this. Now I only know about this... So far I hardly rate best response on comments too. Is it important or will get the commentator get paid better? And I am going to check on the + and - rating now. Thanks again.

I'll rate Best Response if I think the respondent really deserve it even though I only have less than 5 respondent in a topic. Somehow, even if I get many responses in one topic but yet to find the best solution, I wont give out BR yet, I'll leave it open for sometime. I'll try however, to rate responses coming in.

Haven't got down to this yet becuase I thought it was only about the best response...and it is seldom that only one person shares the same response as the one you thought the best...:) THanks for sharing on the + and the -. Yeah....don't think anyone deserves a -ve unless they are outright RUDE!
