Stop the Racism!

Okay, seriously. Enough is enough. I'm not an idealogue, but I do believe in what I believe in with strong convictions. The more I read on myLot, the more I realize that people are jumping all over an American President because of the color of his skin and not his ideology! The racism HAS to stop! You can't hate a man just because of his skin tone. We're supposed to be past that, people! Yes, the President has spent far too much money. The debt he's run up is above and beyond anything America has seen before. But he inherited some problems and continues to run into huge, unforeseen problems. The things he said on the campaign trail and the things he's done in office have been square pegs in round holes. But that's not why you hate him. It's because of his skin color. I'm not fooled. I know you're mad about the whole GITMO deal, but there aren't many alternative options, seriously. That place is a mess. The VP is no prize, that's for sure. Whether or not he tells the truth is up for debate, but I have a feeling that people jump all over him, not because of who HE is, but because of our President's skin tone. Anything our President does is put under a HUGE microscope. Enough! And to all you protestors, comparing our President to Hitler and the anti-Christ, please. That's about as racist as I've seen people act in my entire life. You seriously expect me to believe that if our President was another skin color that you'd still say the same things? I don't think so. It's time we all grew up some! Leave President Bush alone! I know he wasn't the best American President we had, but this blatant racism has got to stop. Hating Bush because he's white is unbecoming of every American--and world--citizen. It's time Whitey got a fair shake!

I agree with you to a certain degree, but added to the pot so to speak, Obama also shouldn't of been voted in purely for his skin colour and the more discussions and the more time that passes I truely believe the election of Obama was purely on his skin colour which is totally wrong aswell. Many of his followers and voters who are backing him are throwing the race issue in their by saying he's the first black president. Who cares if he is pink red orange purple everybody should stop using the race issue whether its praising him or going againist him because he is the first black president. It really is no big deal in the 21st century.

I seem to remember plenty of bad things being said about Bush as well for all the things he did wrong. I recall him being compared to Hitler and being called the anti-Christ. Are you saying that it was okay to do it because Bush is white, but when people start doing it to Obama, it's because he's black and people are just racist? I for one had a big problem with the fact that Bush was doing illegal wiretaps. Why should I have less of a problem with the next president that signs an executive order to hide the fact that they are still doing illegal wiretaps? I had a problem with Bush spending so much money and running up the deficit, why can't I have a problem with the next president spending even more money and increasing the deficit even more? That's just two examples. Race has nothing to do with it. I didn't like it when a white president did it, I don't like it when a black president does it. I wouldn't like it if a female president did it.

Haha, my bad. You mentioned comparing our president to Hitler and I assumed you meant out current president.

It's amazing how similar they are, Bush and Obama! I'm really sad that more people haven't commented on this discussion, just because they would all see it the same, and then read the last few lines and be like, "oh, wait a minute..." Every criticism I listed is what Bush went through. The screw-up (possibly) VP is Cheney. Excepct, not that it's Obama going through the SAME stuff, a lot of people cry racism. Your initial response is what was going through my head when I wrote the post. I just wanted people to see how very much alike our two Presidents were in terms of slander and ridicule and dissent they're had on their watch.
