I have had bloating problems for several months. I don't know what it means, but I want to know if anyone else has bloating problems, too.

Hi, I don't have any problems with bloating myself, that is unless I eat too much. But someone I know suffers from bloating caused by Irritable Bowel Syndrome. This is often caused by increased sensitivity to stress. Other reasons for bloating can be caused by water rentention, stress, food intolerances, and too much fibre in your diet. A more common reason is usually an imbalance in your friendly gut microflora. You can now buy many specially produced yogurt and drink products that are suppose to help reduce this type of bloating. I would maybe try one of these products out to see if it can help reduce your experiences of bloating. If not, you might have to go to your doctor to find out exactly what is causing your bloating.

From what I was told, IBS is not something you can get rid of. I have it! There isn't a cure. You can take meds that may help you but there is no guarantee. I have tried everything and nothing helps me. They put me on Nexium, I have tried over the counter meds. Nothing helps. Yeah it is due to stress some what but they cant exactly pin point why people have it. They used to say it was due to obesity but since thin people are getting it as well, they dont say that anymore. I try to eat healthy, but that doesnt help either. Anything I put in my belly, hurts it. Not to be graphic, but I either can go to the bathroom too much or I cant go at all. Sometimes I cant go for a week in a half. I just found out that you can get on disability for that.
