I do. It seems like most baseball fans don't, especially the purists. I am a huge baseball fan, but I like love it. I like the idea of having someone who may not be good in the outfield for one reason or another, but is a really good hitter. Also, it's a little more exciting when one of our pitchers goes to a national league park and seeing them go up to bat. I remember one of ours, I forget who, never took any batting practice, noteven the day ofthe game, and hit a home run. Thyat was great.

The DH is the worst. Takes all the strategy out of the game. Managing in the American League isn't even needed. It's a joke really. Thank god for the Phils and Ruly Carpenter loving fishing, or we'd have it in the National League too.

I hate The DH and yet I am a Red Sox fan now so I am glad Big Papi has a job.You made my argument for me.If a pitcher who Never takes BP can hit a homerun ,then why do you need a DH? I have been a Mets and Dodgers fan for 23 years .I just became a Red Sox fan around 2002 so I never got to see or like the DH. I still think of it as a form of cheating. Isn't a pitcher a baseball player too? Then why is he being forbidden to hit?

I hate the designated hitter! I don't like it is for this reason: The American Leauge is the only ones who use the designated hitter! You don't see it in any other league of baseball! From little league to the National League! I would like it to be discontinued in the American league! Let the pitchers hit all the time! I would love to see that! It is more excitng and less boring!

I enjoy the fun of watching a pitcher being forced to lay down a bunt in a close situation, I think it makes for a good game making the pitcher bat.

I totally hate the DH! The game was designed for there to be 9 players playing in the field and those nine people are supposed to hit. Now i know some people say that the pitcher won't get hurt and they are trying to be safe. But that is just part of the game. No one is invincible and if someone gets hurt the team needs to just deal with it and move on. Also if all you can do is hit and not field, you are not an overall good baseball player. I also just think it is fun to see pitchers bunt and try to win the game for them.

I dont really like the DH. I feel like pitchers should hit and work on that part of the game as well. Especially having a DH in the American League and not having one in the National League. To me that is kind of pointless. I feel that if you are going to have a a DH it should be implemented in both leagues. That way all teams can go out and find a DH and no one has a disadvantage on the roster. In the National League they find utility players as back ups and when they face an American Leauge team they may be at a disadvantage since the A.L. team can look for a power hitter that can not play the field. I think it should be kept consistent with both leagues.

pitchers should hit for themselfs, they're part of the nine on the field. there should be nine players starting, not ten. the real problem is teaching pitchers how to hit. teams don't worry about pitchers hitting, besides bunting. pitchers should at least be able to hit decently, not over .300 with 30 home runs or anything but should at least be able to be making contact.
