I have been using my laptop for work, school and play. I prefer this because of its speed and portability. Which one do you own? or both? Then, which do you prefer?

I own only a laptop (and a very small 14 inch one at that). It's not really very fragile because the brand I got is known for its portability and sturdiness. But then the cons of a laptop are still there. If one of the major parts break, like the monitor or the mother board and other stuff like that, you might as well just buy a new one. Unlike with a desktop wherein each part is easier to replace. You can upgrade a desktop without limit, as long as you have the budget, and desktops are better for gaming. But then with my lifestyle and the manner at which I use the computer, a laptop is the right fit for me. I like hanging out at coffee shops and other friends' houses while surfing. I like blogging and just browsing through websites. I also play games every so often, but I'm not really a "graphics person" so my gaming experience isn't really deduced with the size of my screen. I was thinking of getting a desktop a few months back, but I just opted to buy an external hard drive because the primary use I had in mind for the desktop was just to keep important files anyway. I got a 1 TB kicker of a hard drive and my entire computer is already backed up in that device so just in case my laptop decides to die out on me, all the important stuff I want to keep is still there. :)

I own both of them, but I prefer laptop for its portability and convenience. However, it costs more than desktop.

i own both a laptop and a desktop, but my laptop is like a decade old. laptops are great for portability, but it does come with a price if you want to have good performance. i prefer a desktop because with the same price of purchasing a laptop, i can get something much more powerful as a desktop. since i am mostly a gamer, i need the performance to run settings on the max

I also do prefer a desktop. You can upgrade almost every part of it. And it is cheaper than laptop. In a laptop, you can just upgrade your Memory and Harddrive.

I have both and have to say most of the time i prefer the laptop. It is just so much easier to be able to sit anywhere on it, whether it to be doing university work or just to browse the internet.

I have both a laptop and a desktop.. At the moment I only really use the laptop, because of the fact I just haven't taken the time to set the desktop up.. Recently moved.. There are up sides and down sides to both... A laptop is portable, and usually has wireless built right into the computer.. But a laptop does not have the same amount of hard drive space, the same amount of ports, and a couple other little disadvantages versus the desk top.. Oh yeah from my experinces the lap top seems to run quieter versus the desk top.. This matters quite a bit when my son is trying to sleep... It all depends on what I need the computer for, and where I need to go with the information.. I like them both..
