in human society the saying, "once a destiny has been decided it cannot be changed' has been handed down. However, it still hasn't been explained properly how a destiny is made or what kind of effect destiny has on people..
what, in fact, is destiny??
how is destiny made??
how can we change our destiny??

Hello there!destiny remains to be one of the most debatable topics in human history, because no single person, even great thinkers, ever predicted or give exact meaning what destiny is all about, therefore it's up to us how we defined that mystical word.
Here's my answer to your questions:
What, in fact, is destiny?--for me destiny is not solely based on circumstances or the term "meant to be". Destiny is 50% choice, 50% "life's will", oftentimes we wondered why things occur, especially those things which made us miserable, little did we know that it happens as the result of our actions and decisions, as the saying goes: Life is a choice and we should be responsible with our actions.
How is destiny made?--well, destiny made through shaping of our aspirations and desires in life, the moment we set a specific goal and start working (or not working on it), destiny slowly taking effect, whatever happens along the way, rely mainly on how we act and decide and circumstances and other people should not be blame. Though destiny sometimes can be attributed to "life's will", it is largely depends on our own choices.
How can we change our destiny?--we can change it through molding our own personality and behavior, how we perceived life contributed much to reshaping our destiny. Success cannot be achieved overnight, it takes tremendous effort to do it. Failures are not largely based on unfortunate circumstances but sometimes based on our own decision. If we failed, we can always correct our mistakes and learn from it. We can change destiny, but being through to ourselves and recharge our life with new goals and purposes and work on it. Of course everything should be accompanied by intense prayers and deep faith in God and everything will put into order.

I don't believe in individual destiny dictated by some higher power that knows everything about everyone everywhere.
Does life have a 'destiny'? You bet! To be 'better' than what we are. Humans as a species are hard-wired to perpetuate itself and that hard-wiring includes such concepts as compassion, generosity and altruism.
Frankly, that's all I need. Where we go to be 'better' is our own choice, but I have 'faith' that the values derived through millions of years of evolution as a social species combined with the capacity for conscious, rational introspection can only propel us to be something truly remarkable.
Humans are teenagers: guided by base impulses yet capable of as yet unexplored profundity....Happy mylotting

dear jane. i actually don't understand the real meaning of destiny. if this is something to do with our future, it sounds so complicated. but if some says that you can choose your destiny, then plan it now and choose your destiny... neil

destiny? what is that? lol. :) actually, we make our own destiny. for me we should not listen to others stories. if u are really meant to be then u are. but if not, then, not. people come and go, God knows who are meant for us, and God knows when and where he will give it to us. for me, just enjoy life, don't expect, live it as if its your last day!
