Doing too much for too little?

Ok, so I left my two good paying jobs of two years to start with another company that is located about 200 miles away. Still in the same industry but just another company. So I moved 200 miles to work for this company. I did this because my boyfriend also got a job with them and because he knows the co owner really well. Well, I thouut that me moving out there and working for them would show how dedicated I was. I was told that I would be making the same or better then what I was making. Come to find out I was not. I was making less then the company that I left. They said it was because business is still slow, they are a new company so be patient. I've been there for over 5 months now and I do three times as much work as I did with my old job but making less money: what should I do? Should I ask for a raise now? I don't think they'll give me one and I can't move back to where I was. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks!

I understand, I have been with my company for 6 years and this year they told us that we were not getting raises this year or the next. But then they told us that we were getting new flat screen computer screens and whole new computers (what the hell). To tell you the truth I would not ask for a raise not right now, because I have learned this the people that complain the most are the 1st to go when they have to lay off people. I know that you are doing a lot more then what you did in your last job and it sucks not to get paid for it (trust me I know); but since it is a new company maybe they will give a great raise or a great bonus! If not then and you are still unhappy then start looking for another job! I hope I have helped you out!

I know, with the economy and how new the company is, I don't think they'll be giving raises anytime soon. And your right, the people that complain are definately the first to go. I'll just have to be patient and wait it out to see how it goes. Thanks for the advice! I appreciate it :)
