hi friends.so seems that umpire referral system is going to be made permanent and ofcourse i am against the one proposed by ICC.so i will post my version of referral system which is good for cricket,i hope.so first my rules and then my reasons.
1.the bowler should never appeal against leg before decisions.the batsmen can only appeal against the decision if and only if any bat was involved.
2.umpires should be allowed the use of both snicko and hot spot.the decision should be made after using both snicko and hot spot and not just only one.
3.hawk eye should never be used in making a decision.
4.if the third umpire turn down a bowlers referral, then certain runs should be awarded to the batsmen against whom the referral was made.
5.if the batsmen is found guilty of staying on the crease after knicking the ball and given out after referring to the third umpire,20% of the runs he scored in the match will be deducted and 25% of his match fee will also be deducted.
now for the reasons.
i know that most of the wrong decisions were Leg before wickets but they still havent found a comprehensive device to give a Leg before decision out.the umpire is allowed only to see where the ball pitches and where it hits.he has to assume the rest whether the ball will hit the wickets or not.hawk eye is not very good and i noticed in most matches.this should cover my first 3 rules
as for the rest,u can take the example of indo srilanka series last year.the umpire referral system was tested there.the stand out thing about that was india made about 26 referrals and was given decisions in favour of them only 2 times.
as they will know they can always check the third umpire if the on firld umpire turns down their appeal, they tend to appeal for almost every delivery hitting the pads.the most disturbing thing was seen during the last match of that series.
tendulkar came to bat with a bandaged elbow.mendis bowled a offspinner which didnt turn much and hit sachins pad plumb in front.everyone knew that there is no way sachin cannot be given not out but dravid on the other end said WE GOT 2 MORE REFERRALS LEFT .Y NOT WASTE IT.ofcourse sachin referred and given out again.
players are hungry for money and runs so by fining them for misusing this system,i added those run and fee deductions.
what do you think?

1.the bowler should never appeal against ....
I dont agree with that, theres going to be so little noise on the pich, it wont have the excitement that cricket has produced over the years... and most of all the Asutralians will be very dissappointed. I dont mind batsmen appealing when the bat is involved, that part of the referral process.
2.umpires should be allowed the use of both snicko...
It will be very time consuming if every decision had to be made this way. They could use snicko and hotspot for only if it is referred to the third umpire

3.hawk eye should never
agree.
4.if the third umpire turn down a bowlers
no, then whats the point of having a referral system. Thats unfair for the bowlers especially with LBWs where thers no way they can be 100% sure (except in some cases)
5.if the batsmen is found guilty of staying
Thats the best of them all, totally agree. Honesty is what is required in cricket to allow the game to flow smoothly. The rule should not apply for LBWs and low catches, because it too difficult for the batsmen to be sure.
Sorry I am in a bit of a hurry, I hope I understood your views properly. Plese correct me if I misunderstood something.
