Thinking about this statement I conclude that it is true.... but it's not everything in life. It's nice to have a beautiful environment, happiness, health and so many other things that cannot be bought. However sometimes money is required for a lot of things in life and will increase your happiness, although not in all cases and not in an excessive amounts. That is, enough to live comfortable without the need to always having to make big sacrifices.
What do you think about the statement "The best things in life are free"? Do you agree? Is that enough to live a happy life?

yes i would still believe that this old saying still holds true in this life where everything we do needs money. hope i can still get the chance to get some free things that will give me happiness that money is not involved.

well,in my opinion,freedom is important,but it's not everything.when compared with love or life itself or something else you may take other things more important to you.but no matter what is the most important aspect in one's life,just do your best to enjoy your life,you'll be ok.

the temptation to buys things we don't need can be strong to some . i have to hold out for my plan to buy a new cellphone. i was for the whole day surfing the web for new cellphone to buy. i was deciding which is the best cellphone to buy within my budget. but there was this thought behind back saying that it will be just a waste of money when after buying i will not actually love using and the excitement and happiness of new things will disappear on the next day and i will just regret buying it. and so i was basing this on my past experience where i was too excited to buy a cellphone as soon i have the money thinking it will make me feel so satisfied owning but i was not happy having it and not proud even to have bought a middle range phone though it looks nice as other have said.

Best things in life, free? well not all the best but arguably some of the most important things in life. The fact that one is alive is the bestest best thing that could ever happen.

You're right, a quite often forgotten gift. Coincidentally I'm watching a tv show and right now they gave a tip of the day that said "stop thinking about the things that you don't have, and instead appreciate all the good things that are around."

i believe that there isnt a thing on this world that is truely free. someone or something had to put some sort of effort and energy into something for you.
free healthcare? i dont think its free, someone else is paying it for you. there is always something to offset things with low price in my opinion

I see your point of view, yes we have to pay for the water treatment. our car licenses have risen depending on the year of manufacture of the car as they said it pollutes more the air and for many other things we actually pay.

then again, i have correct myself abit.. it is not entirely free... you have to spent time to achieve it too...
so if it is in terms of time... nope, it is not free... however, it is worth it!

I'm the same as you, some of the best things in life such as love, health, great friends, etc are free but then in order to do anything with your life such as buying a house, going on days out, having kids, etc all cost money. So in a way, the saying is true. Money worries get everyone down sometimes, when my fiancee was not working, it was only my wage that just covered the bills so we had no money for anything else. We just exsisted. Now he has a job, we have extra money to get married and go do things that we want.

Thank you, everything is working out now. I think that people with too much money end up buying things for the hell of it. My best friend and her boyfriend earn a lot of money and after paying their bills, they have a lot left over. She spends about £300 a month on games and DVDs alone. I'd love to have that much spare to spend on what ever I want but I don't think I'd enjoy it as much. I've been waiting about 4 months to get a Nintendo Wii and next week I will be able to because I'm getting a bonus at work and my fella said I should spend it on what ever I want to. So I'm getting the Wii, a new freezer for the house and I'm going to treat us to dinner out one night.

Of course if you live a simple life in reclusion you don't need much money. but what about food, unless you don't go hunting for your own food, and water to wash and electricity. If we go back to living in caves with candles and not washing then you can live without money I guess.

It is also true that so much we take for granted is free too! You only have to walk outside to appreciate what mother nature has given us for free without charge, it's all unconditional for us to appreciate, enjoy and wonder. The trees, the ocean, the animals, even the air we breathe! We don't have to be rich to appreciate the wonderful world we live in and what we have, I guess we are so much of a rush to stop and take in our environment. And not everything in life has a price! And those people who have money are not always as happy as those without!

hello there! well, i always believe that a person will be happy depending on how he defines happiness..yes, of course i believe too that the best things in life are free--and these are my gauge to happiness. the wonderful people around you; your family and friends, your workmates, the air you breath, the natural resources you and i are enjoying---these are all for free, thanks GOD!

It is true! If we all got past the materialistic world and the things money can buy we'd learn to appreciate what life gives us for free. We'd also spend a lot more time focusing on ourselves, the lives of others, and the beauty + essence of life. I mean that's my take on it. You get what you put into the world. If you put out the view that life is about money, that's what you'll always have to strive for - money.
I think that it is more than enough to live a happy life. You just have to know what to do with it.

I do think that free is very important in our life, and I think every one will chase for free, will love the feeling of free. But as you said, happiness, health are also indispensable in our life. And in my opinion, the best thing in life is love, we all need love, and we will be happy if we own love.

I agree the best thing here in this world to have free ,free for all the things you've done but it's a case to case basis because if your doing the wrong one so it means it 's not good so it depends on the situation...OMG!!!!

I agree with you too. Money has been a necessity for us to have a good life. Though heart felt things which i consider my best is free! like kisses from a loved one, hugs from a niece or even the joy your family gives when you're down. Yes, because it means that you are content on what you have and would count the blessings as they are received not the blessings that you are about to receive. It's like counting the number of chickens while waiting for the eggs to hatch.

Yes it's true that the best things in life are free. Like for example, air,water and life...aren't you happy with those free commodities..and specially family, you don't go to store and buy a sister or mother that you like, you already have one even though you don't exactly like them. I know these are the free things that we should be thanking for.

Yes, I really agree with this statement. Laughs, time with your loved ones, the good memories that you have with people you love and care for, and such are all free. It's not something that you can buy or anything like that. It's just the way that life is, in my opinion. I really do believe that the best things in life are free.

Granted. those are the basic and most important things, but then as I said in other comments, in today's world it's not that easy to cope unless you live a very simple life and in a community that do the same.

yes i believe that the best thing in life is free, the air we breathe in the water we drink and even the life we have in our being are all the free gift of God through nature, it is sad that the lesser things in life such as money, food, housing and the likes are what we struggle for in life

i agree to this statement,because my own most happiness have not much bearing on the money,i think a lot of people's sincere or health which could bring the more real happiness to me,i also agree with you that money could incease happiness in such society.

Living freely is the highest life condition but there is few people that can live with completely free.In order to make life we always have to do a lot of things that we are not interested in even sick of.
So i agree with the statement"The best things in life are free".But it is hard for us to live such way. The only way to acheive this goal is to work hard.

I want to elaborate with what is free being referred to in this life.Family and friends are free and we can never buy them,no worth can ever be tag for our loved ones.A kids smile when we give toys or candies,simple things to make someone happy is a free given happiness.
One more best thing in life is "FREEDOM "....where we can express "WHO WE ARE and DO WHAT WE WANT "

The best things in my life.........so many situation comes to the attention...
Not only feel free..but how to make a living more higher quality...
The best part making the good live..surely we are free to do anything which can make the happiness, wealthiness and good social relationships.
Dont forget about work hard and pray to our Lord are factors that must also run.
life are free is important...but the most important...how we can make it the best..
