Do you have a 5-year plan for yourself?

Our country has its 11th 5-year plan now. And I just come to realize that having plan is a very good method to keep myself working hard and improving. So I made out the first 5-year plan of myself a week ago, will this really help me to get the right direction toward the destination? Please share if you've got experiences about this, thanks.

5 year plan is too long for me.. I do have some long terms goals, but most of the time, i will prefer to set a shorter time period, depending on things ^_^ BEcause if one gets to see their own accomplishments, one will feel more confident in carrying out the rest of their plans.. PLus, 5 years is quite long and anything unexpected can happen within the 5 years.. As such, it's either my long term plans are at least 10years, and short terms plans within months to a year ^_^

Hey, kun2348, what will you include in the plan, career, family, finance? Or books, movies that you'd like to read or see. I don't actual follow my plans and can't make a good plan as well, can you share with me your thoughts, thanks?

Family plans are way too early for me as i dun feel like marrying at the moment, and maybe for the next 10 years at least.. hehe ^_^ My plans are mostly present and almost immdiate, such as my daily goals which i aim to achieve ^_^ PLans are meant to be flexible, and if u cant follow it well today, u always have the next day ^_^ But what matters most is time frame for u to complete that plan, if not, u are more likely to drag it forever without even starting on it.. hehe ^_^

Yeah, kun, you're right. Plans can't achieve until we put our efforts into them. I always start very quickly and then gradually lost interest. That's a big problem. I can't stick to the end. I always run away half way.

I've heard of a five year plan but I can't say for sure what it is. I think that anything you've got planned and at a steady pace can come through. What is the "five year plan" I mean, in general terms, not what yours is but what's the idea behind it. Like I said, I think I've heard of it, but am not sure.

Oh I am sorry to have confused you. Please let me try to reword what I am asking. I have heard of, but am not sure what a five year plan is (?). Could you tell me what a five year plan is?

A 5-year plan is a plan in which you draw up things that you want to do in the next 5 years, and also the goals you set for yourself. Sorry for late reply

I don't have a whole lot of experience, but I do set short term goals for myself. I think a 5-year plan is good if you're young. I have one foot on a banana peel, so short terms goals work for me. If I set a 5 year plan for myself, I would feel defeated straight away, but that's just me. Everyone does what works for them. Good luck on your plan. :O)

Have one foot on a banana peel? That's a new sentence to me, actually. Yeah, short-term plans will be alright, everybody has its own lifestyle.

Yeah. After great consideration of all my situations, I would like to be a top financial industry analist in a specified area. It is not easy to realize. But I belive it can come true only if I try my best.
