No, I am NOT asking for a donation so don't go clicking that ! button. To complete my question above, have you ever asked for a donation of any kind? For what purpose/s? And if you haven't already, would you ever ask for donation from others? What would make you ask for it? A personal goal that you want to achieve or maybe something you want to do for others? Come now, I need your opinions on this. Because I'm thinking if it's right that I'm asking my blog readers to donate for a memory upgrade or not.

Hey kayedanda! Absolutely NOT! Why should your blog readers pay for a memory upgrade for you? Where do you get off thinking that anyone who is reading your blog would even want to donate money to pay for an upgrade? Do you have any idea what a donation is? Apparently not! A donation is something that people give to others that are in NEED of something like: FOOD, CLOTHES, HEALTH SERVICES, SHELTER!!! You have alot to learn still! You have alot of nerve asking for money for an upgrade on your computer! Didn't you try this once before here and get into trouble? SHAME ON YOU!!!!!

I am sorry if I misunderstood you Kaye! I would never think of reporting anyone anyway, I'm not like that and apparently I am confusing you with someone else who has tried this just recently! And for that I am so very sorry! It wasn't you! I really am sorry that I confused you with this person! I just had a forgetful moment and it reminded me of someone who just recently did something very similar! Please do accept my sincere apology! If I am wrong, I am the first to admit! It is not like me to ever be rude to anyone! So if I am confusing you with someone else again I am sincerly sorry!

wow Opal. you come off harsh. never once been spoken harshly that way before in here, so that's a first. anyway, perhaps i should make it clear that i am in no way forcing my blog readers to donate for my memory upgrade. just so you know, several people have already come forward to pay for that WILLINGLY because i have helped them in one way or another. another thing, i HAVE not tried this EVER before on myLot (nor I have any plans of doing so), that is, going around asking people to donate anything to me. you can check my profile and go waaaay back on the discussions i started and you will not find anything. not that myLOt deleted it or something, it's just because i NEVER did what you so rudely accused me of. i also have NEVER gotten into trouble with myLot for the length of time that I am a member here. i am thinking that you mistook me for someone else (because I changed avatars? maybe). so there. i hope that clears things up because i'm not really into stirring trouble or anything. and i sure hope you didn't report this discussion because i would just cry if you do.

i think that if it was something real importain then yes i would ask...no i never have but my best freinds uncle was jus recently diagnosed with lung cancer and me and my freinds have been gathering up money for treatment...the town threw a dinner with a door charge to go toward treatment and it was awesome...i dont see anything wrong with asking for them under the right circumstanses and definently dont think people should be looked down upon for takin them....

It's actually pretty normal and acceptable for blog writers to ask for donations. Don't be pushy about it, of course, but just add something to your site saying that donations are welcome and explaining what they'd be for. When I was a kid, I used to be in a youth symphony that relied on donations for its funding. So each year I would go around my church and my neighborhood asking for "sponsorships" for the symphony. I usually got a couple, at least.

"sponsorship" is a better way of putting it. donations sound so..piteous for me. but that's just me, so. tee hee. and no. definitely not pushy. i don't want the readers to be shying away from my blog because of that. i need all the traffic i can get. what i did was put a little paypal button on the right sidebar and on top some words about where i plan to use it. i actually had one person donate already, and she was a friend so that was VERY nice of her to do that. i would smile like this for the rest of the week because of that
