Have you tried dating online? Does this work?

Do you believe in online dating? I've come across this question as I was surfing the net and I passed by on a free dating site. I really do not engage in such activity but I wonder if there are people trying this out. And I want to find out if it works and can it be true love, or it's just for fun and a pasttime?

Most of my past relationships were with people I met online. And I met my current boyfriend online. The lengths of my past relationships ranged from 5 months to a year and a half. I've been with my current boyfriend for 3 years. So yes, I think online dating has been pretty successful for me.
I don't think it's any more or less successful than any other form of dating. It's just another place you can meet people! Really the success depends on the people that you meet. The same goes for going to bars to date, or having your friends set you up, or speed dating, or anywhere else you might go to meet people to date!

ok, I see. So it also depends on the both of you if your relationship will work, is that right? And I definitely believe you're right in saying that online dating is just like the other places out there where we can meet other people and date. Just honesty and sincerity are the foundations then for a successful relationship.

yes.. The man I am with right now is someone I met on the internet and we've been together for a year and a half now:) Dating online requires alot of TRUST and understanding for each other especially when you haven't seen each other in person yet but once you do the whole "online dating" will just be the momento of how you guys first met :)

Well with online dating you have to really be careful because some times you never know who you could be communicating with you, you never really know who might be on the other end of the website.
