AC clout level

I have been neglecting my AC account in favor of building up my cache of articles at helium. I recently put up two more slide shows and reposted two helium articles that were not performing. One I revamped and one I left as is. I am only at clout 2 and I am wondering how to move up. I know I need to add more articles but without the rating system like helium I wonder if it is based on volume or page views.
Does anyone know the answer?

She answered here because it changes the number next to her name :-)
Teachers today don't make students write lines anymore Scheng. Did you not see my helium article on passive discipline?

Hi Canellita, the computation in AC is very easy, compared to the system in Helium.
The computation takes in the current page views plus the number of articles.
If you have 100 page views, and 50 articles, then the system will compute as:
100 (pageviews) x 1.5 (each article is counted as extra 1%, to the maximum of 200 articles) = 150 page views for Clout Level computation.
Right now I have 15,190 page views, and more than 200 articles, so for CLout Level calculation:
15,190 x 3 (since 200 articles mean 200%) = 45,570 page views. I need another 1,500 page views to reach Clout 7.
So the trick is to build up a portfolio of articles and slideshows till 200. Then you will fly up the "corporate" ladder.

LOL, you think this is easy compared to helium? At helium I at least have my writing score and stars to give me an idea of how I am doing from day to day. It is going to take months before I can get to that many articles on AC with my schedule.

Not sure???? You're supposed to be the AC expert! I just knew when you found this discussion you would have all of the anwsers to all things AC.
I guess I feel like when I log in to helium my writing score is there, I can look at the ranking of each article and keep an eye on the ratio of competitive titles. It seems to me it takes forever to see a change in clout status at AC in comparison to helium where I now have 55 articles and three writing stars and at last check my writing score was just about 95%.
At 200 articles on Helium I should be at the top of the "clout ladder". Just seems easier to me. Even though at AC you can practically post anything as was evident from the random ramblings I saw from one contributor recently. These were not articles; they were more or less blog or journal entries of someone asking questions the way people do in some discussions here on myLot.

haha Canellita, Mommaj just managed to pop out of her rabbit hole, dont let her go down again!
Later she barrows her way deeper and deeper, to find her "AC expert" badge. It will be ages before she dares to come out again!
It's a miracle that she remembers what is AC!

Where do you guys find the time to sort all these ratings out? I am scrambling just to get a new article up every couple of days or so. I guess you are all being strategic. My only goal is to write more and better all the time. I don't pay much attention to clout level, and I was surprised when it changed one day from 5 to 6.
On Helium, I tend to stress too much over those dang writing stars. For some reason, on AC, I ignore the clout and just focus on publishing articles. Much better for my psychological state, I think.

Payment is based on performance so I guess we need to know the criteria for the rating and ranking so we can focus on building our accounts and banking up the earnings.
I was getting very frustrated with helium in the beginning trying to get and keep that first writing star. Suddenly I had two and then I had none and then two again. It was making me nuts! My articles were ranked in the top 3 or 5 so I didn't understand what the problem was.
Increasing clout level means increasing earnings. I'm doing pretty well at helium so I want to improve my account at AC. When I looked at the site recently it seemed there was a long way up from clout 2 to clout 7. You have to really put in some time and work at AC.
I am glad at least that I have the advantage of understanding keyword density so I can increase my chances of getting more page views. One advantage at AC is you can choose your own headlines.

Yugasini if you visit my profile there is a link to helium and the articles I have written. Some of the people who have commented on this page also have articles published online.

Hi Canellita...going ten days without my computer set me back all over the place! When I got it back, though, I had a wonderful surprise. I had thought, heck, go for an upfront payment on AC, so I did with an article on how to keep your child learning all through summer vacation. They sent it back, said it wasn't long enough, to please redo and resubmit. So, I did, and it was accepted for the payment! I was so pleased! I am clout four, but not sure what the criteria is. I need to look into that, too.
Hugs,

I think 10 days without my computer would drive me nuts! Scheng can help you figure out how far you are from the next clout level, she is a math wiz!
Congrats on your upfront payment and article acceptance! That is totally awesome!
I am still having car trouble and I may take advantage of being grounded in the morning to do a little writing and try and develop something I can submit to AC for upfront payment. I'm going to need a dozen or so articles to cover all this car repair stuff!

I actually finished an article of my own that I submitted to AC for upfront payment (finally). I have been concetrating on helium and trying to find empty titles for the past two months and now my writing score is in good shape and I hope to get another writing star soon.
