in the crock pot. Normally I use a packet of Onion Soup Mix on it for some flavor, but it got me wondering what other people do with theirs. How do you cook your Beef Roast? What do you add to it to make it really good?

I have a roaster, the last one I did was pot roast style, I got one of those cooking bags in the seasoning section along with a packet of the pot roast seasoning. I usually like to do things from scratch but got lazy, I threw in onions quartered, potatoes small red ones, carrots, and chunks of celery! It was great for a lazy way to do it, but sometimes I like lazy! tdemex

I have never tried using those bags. I hate cleaning the crock pot out though, so I might pick one up. I know they have the crock pot liners too.

My most recent discovery is Peppercorn Marinade by Weber. You mix it with water, oil and vinegar and marinade it the night before (about 6-8 hours). Then right before it's done , I add potatoes and a small onion and celery to it. I don't like carrots ( my mom adds them too) but it makes an awesome roast! I like the onion soup mix I've used it before this is just something new I've discovered!

My son hates cooked carrots. He likes them raw, but not cooked. I will have to look for that marinade when I go to the store.

I add potatoes and a bag of carrots with an onion (everything cut up of course, lol), I don't add but one-third cup of water, as the onion and potatoes put out steam. Oh, and I read that if you add a pinch of Rosemary to any type of roast, that it lessens the chance of getting certain cancers - for what it's worth, I always add a pinch of it. I have sage and Worchestire Sauce also. Happy crocking!!!
