Ok mylotters I have to share this with you and I want to know your thoughts on this. The Ice Cream truck came and stopped in front of my house. It was a truck we hadn't seen before. Our Ice Truck is usually white this one was yellow. I was in my bedroom and my daughter was in the kitchen. My granddaughter was in the livingroom. My 3 year old granddaughter went to the open door with a screen door locked when she heard the music coming from the Ice Cream truck. My daughter tells her daughter not to go too the door. Try telling a 3 year old not to do something right? So my daughter goes to the door and sees the ice cream man with a door open and telling my granddaughter to come here, beckoning her with his hand telling her to come out. Then the Ice Cream man sees my daughter and closes the door and drives away. If he sees my daughter wouldn't you if your an ice cream man think maybe the mother is coming out to get ice cream for her daughter. That is if you had good intentions. So its obivious this man was up to no good. My daughter and her husband were quite upset by this and had a police report done. The police said they would keep a look out the following night to see if he is around. Well this happened about three weeks ago and this ice cream man with the yellow truck has not been back. So its common sense that the Ice Cream man was up to no good. Mylot friends and mylotters please beware of the Ice Cream man when it comes to your kids and grandkids. You really can't trust anyone anymore, so please keep your kids safe this summer. So what are your thoughts if any?

That is really scary. It is a shame that we can't trust anyone anymore, but that did sound very strange. I am glad she was able to stop her from going out.

Yes me too. Thank you. I find it quite creepy and especially that he drove away when my he saw my daughter at the doorway. If he had good intentions he would have waited to see if my daughter was buying ice cream for her daughter, not just drive away. Plus not to be back again that in itself tells you he was up to know good. There is know on that can be trusted anymore for these poor children growing up in these times. Thank you for responding.

wow. I'm glad your daughter filled out a police report! It's obvious he was up to no good, leaving as soon as he see's the childs mother... That's a new one for me. I'm also very glad that your daughter caught up with her daughter before anything could have happened!

Thank you and ME TOO! My granddaughter didn't understand really what was going on and started crying when her mother grabbed her away from the door. She thought ice cream and she wanted some. However the next day she said to us the ice cream man wanted me to come out. So Scary!

Wow that's terrible! I can't imagine crooks still use that old school method of kidnapping. If I'm not mistaken, the ice cream man's intention is to lure the poor girl to get to his truck and drive her away. That's sick. I hope they catch him.

Way to go, Mike! We really hope the bas***d gets punished. On the other hand Lelin, I'm afraid he's preying on other kids in another place. Let's just pray no kid will get to taste his ice cream.

Well this is why we made a report with the police. They said they would keep a look out for him. Funny thing is we haven't had any other ice cream truck go up or down our street since this happen. Plus that was the only time we ever saw the yellow ice cream truck usually it was a white van.

Exactly and what child wouldn't think it was ok to run to the Ice Cream man. Well he hasn't been back and we haven't heard that the police have talked to him or shut down his business. I just hope he is not somewhere else trying to find another kids somewhere else.

That's an interesting story. It was really smart of you to report it to the police. Lol. I'll try to look out for the "Ice Cream Man" in the yellow truck. You were lucky your daughter went outside in time to see him. I hope he is caught soon! A lot of people nowadays are not trustable, so I guess it isn't TOO surprising. It's all part of life.

This shouldn't be a part of our children's lives. They don't deserve this. No child deserves to live being afraid of everyone and everything. This is not the way it should be. Thank you for responding.

I am so glad that your granddaughter is ok, and that your daughter called the police and made a report. It is so much better to be safe than sorry. I also hope that the police keep a eye out for this guy, and no other child gets harmed by him.

Yes It sounds like that man was up to no good. Unfortunately no one can truly be trusted with our children anymore.. People see children as their prey... Its not something nice to think about but we all must be aware of our children surroundings.. They are kids that are willing to trust any adult; the are innocent, and adults use this to their advantage..

They surely do and we as parents or grandparents have to really teach our kids very young about people who may not have good intentions. Its a real shame what this world has become. Thank you for responding.

I think that the whole concept of the ice cream truck is stupid, annoying, and dangerous. First off, the music. Who really wants to listen to those annoying bells for four hours as the ice cream truck drives up and down the streets of your neighborhood? It's a public nuisance and I think it ought to be illegal. To make matters worse, the one that goes through my neighborhood frequently plays Christmas music. Christmas music is annoying enough at Christmas. Then I find myself wondering, "just exactly who decided that it was a good idea to lure small children into the street to buy ice cream?" If it was a sidewalk ice cream cart, that would be one thing, but the ice cream truck requires the children to actually go into the road. And as if that isn't enough danger, who on earth knows what kind of person is driving that truck? I'm glad that you guys were able to chase off your creepy ice cream pedophile and I hope he never comes back.

We also have one of those ice cream trucks...it's really a van but it plays music like you said. I have often wondered about them..and if you can trust them. Your case was very cut and dried....but I wonder how many children have been fooled!

This is why a police report was done. I don't want something to happen to another child. Lucky thing my granddaughter couldn't open the locked screen door. Or we don't know what would have happened. I've heard of kids being taken right from the front of their house. Unbelievable the world our kids have to live in.

It is so easy for preditors to seek out prey among the innocent. What a shame that this type problem is getting worse instead of better. All we can do is try to educate our child to be cautious, and that doesn't work a lot of the time. I am glad your daughter was being a parent, watching over her wee one. This could have ended much worse otherwise. Stay watchful and keep that baby safe.

It's a very dangerous world we live in, I think your Granddaughter is a very lucky young lady, her life may have even been saved. Keep your eyes open at all times, and anytime something doesn't seem right react on the side of caution.

i think that this is sick...and am aware of how many times similar things have happened in the past...i can see why you knew he was up to no good obviously....and i dont think an icecream man should wave kids to him in the first place...regardless....if i were a icecream man i think that i wouldnt even speak to the children inless the parent was there....jus outta fear that someone might think this of me... and its sick...i dont think that people like that in this world should ever have a chance to have a job where they camn interact with children like that.... maybe have a physch evaluation b4 gettin a job like this...i dunno...sicc

That is a good idea an evaluation but then you wonder if they would be smart enough to know how to answer the questions so they are not detected. Its just become such a sick world. Thank you so much for your response.

Maybe, he is member of a syndicate. It is obvious because his acts are suspicious. Good thing you've reported it to the police. I hope he'll not go back in your place and make someone hurt. Take care and happy mulotting!
