Another act of terrorism causing the inevitable devastation and fatalities in the Indonesian capital. Yes, 3 bombs were set off! Two exploded in the capital's luxury hotels - the Marriott Hotel and the Ritz-Carlton; while the third was a car bomb along a toll road in the north of the city. So far, the casualty list reads 12 dead and more than 50 injured with many more to be declared, as the attack is still being investigated. The incident has forced Manchester United to call off the Indonesian leg of their Far East tour where they had been due to stay in the Ritz-Carlton on Saturday and Sunday nights. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the latest blasts, but it is believed the terrorist group Jemmiah Islamiah, which is linked to Al Qaeda, is behind the attack. Initial investigations found that it appeared that the bombers had checked in as hotel guests following a security crackdown around the hotel areas and a discovery of a 4th undetonated bomb in one of the rooms at the Marriott Hotel. It is really sad indeed and untimely for such an incident to happen again. I just cannot help but recall a similar bombing at the Marriott Hotel, 6 years ago where 13 people were killed. Also, reminding us of another bombing on the resort island of Bali nearly four years ago, which killed 30 Britons and some 200 others, after 3 suicide bombers set off bombs in a restaurant. Just what are these group of lunatics doing? Don't they know that they are KILLING their own people? This just downright appalling and I do hope that these groups will need to realize that they are not doing a just and right cause here. It is just plain perverted lunacy!
