Philippines: As of this days, charter change is always an issue on the street because militant groups and peoples against constitutional amendments is feared that the Government of President Arroyo, will do anything to change the constitution and Mrs. Arroyo, will stay in power? But we cannot deny the fact that there are people under the administration, will agree on charter change. They are also conducted there rallies on the day of SONA, of the President. I don't if those people understand what are their ideologies on supporting charter change... In your views my fellow Filipino's and fellow mylotter's. Please tell me if you are pro cha cha or anti-cha cha and why?

I do think that Cha cha per se is not bad at all but it just need to be postponed to allow the smooth transfer of power for the current administration. The real aim of this present administration for clamoring for charter change is to extend their stay in power. I think what we should be focusing now is to think who to choose as the next leader of our country and from there we can talk for Charter Change. I really think that we need to change some provision in the constitution to have a better country.

Hello rsa, Before I proceed like to thanks for your participation in this discussion. As for my opinion is concern it should be but not at this time because they abuse their authority to insert provisions that is for their personal interest. Another thing is that, even if the constitutions is better than any constitution in the world but the politicians is not change their character. I don't think our country is attaining a better conditions. If those old face politicians is always in power that no other interest but personal. Their is no changes in our country? No development, no progress and most of no better constitutions for politicians that is greedy... Do you believe that if they changes or amend some of provisions our country will be better if those politicians still in power but not change?

That is why I was proposing that amendments should be done when there is already a smooth transition of power. Not changing the constitution would just mean that politicians would take advantages of the flaws and imperfection this constitution has.

I am Pro-Chacha but not pro-GMArroyo. I stand on my own principle and conviction. One fundamental change that will be effected if ever the Philippine Constitution is changed is the issue on the proposal to grant foreigners the right to own lands here in the Philippines. What are these lands? These are lots that have lain idle for centuries. These unproductive lands will be offered to interested foreigners who have all the means to make them productive. Only those who like to sell their lands will do so. Those who don't like will not be forced to do so. Their decision will be respected by the government. Is there something wrong with this proposal? Will you eat nationalism? You may own several hundred hectares of land but you lack capital and machinery, will you est your land? Mixing politics with CHACHA makes the issue complicated. That's why pro- and anti-chacha advocates can't see each other eye to eye.

For me my friend not pro. Because I do believe that nay changes on the constitution when those politicians is still not change about their characters changes is useless and the aims of the constitutions is also useless. If that so, my friend. What provisions in the constitution, you want to be change and why?
