When I was a child we were allowed to stay up till 9:30...regardless of what day it was att 9:30 it was off to bed. When my niece or nephew stays over they go to bed by 10 and the tv gets turned off. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

My DD is barely over a year old, so we don't have anything in her room as of yet. I know I didn't have a TV in my room growing up, but my husband's famiily, especially his nosy sister who insists on poking her nose into how I raise OUR daughter, seems to think having a TV in a child's room is no big deal. But personally I think a TV can be a valuable learning tool. I've known plenty of kids who fall asleep with the TV on and come out fine. I was allowed to watch as much TV as I wanted when I was a kid and I didn't grow up to be a drooling idiot. I don't see a problem with kids being allowed to stay up late if school is out for the summer or it's a vacation or a holiday from school.

My children are always watching tv until late at night like you say it do not matter during school holidays as there is no rush in the mornings to try to get them out of bed not unless you have an appointment.
