If you've watched the interview that he did with Oprah, I don't remember when, they address that issue. Jackson states that he had a skin disease called vitiligo. He used makeup to help blend in the bloches, but he claims he didn't bleach his skin. He also said that he did have plastic surgery, but thousands of people get plastic surgery. It's not anything new for a celebrity anyways. Michael Jackson seemed like a very good hearted person who had possibly the most rumors spread about him by the tabloids and media. Rest in Peace Michael.

Yes yes! I agree with you completely! He did have that skin disease. Many people said horrible things. They are very ignorant about MJ. They do not understand he is a very honest, intelligent man. And not anything the media said he was. It's all rumors. Just like everything else in the world. No one understands because they have been conditioned there whole life by telivision and even believe the herb is a bad thing. People it cures cancer Run From The Cure Rick Simpsons type that in on Youtube. And check that Oprah Video out while you're at it. It's amazing. You will actually understand who MJ really is.

Michael Jackson had Vilatgo which makes you develop white spots on the skin. The doctor said he gave him medicine (cream I think) to make his skin one color. It was easier to make it all white because that is how many spots he had all over his body. This is also why he started wearing the glove because that is where the skin disease started. This is from the mouth of his Dermatagist Dr. A. Klein and Singer Dionne Warwick.

Yes, this is exactly what I read too. I have known people to have Vitiligo too. You get very light or white colored patches all over the skin and in the hair too. That could explain the penciled on eyebrows that he had. Also, I heard that he wore wigs or hairpieces from the time that his hair had caught on fire back in the '80s. Apparently he could not grow hair on his scalp in that area after the accident. As far as the nose I think that he had that operated on because his father pretty much constantly teased him about how wide it was and how ugly it was, etc. I wish his father had not been so cruel to him and his siblings growing up. Poor Michael Jackson - he suffered so much and always had the public eye on him. I really think that he did bleach his skin to match the light spots of Vitiligo and that he wore makeup to help to even out the skin tone, etc. He was such a good looking man and it must have been so hard for him to have to go through all of that and on top of it try to explain it all to the public. Really, it did not matter what he looked like, how big his nose was, what color his skin was, etc. It was really all about his music, his singing, his dancing, his talent. I feel for him and hope that now he can finally rest. He did not have an easy life, sure he made lots and lots of money but he also suffered emotional and physical things in his life. We do not really know all that he suffered or how life must have been for him. One thing we do know is that he was a very talented performer and I really feel he did not have anything bad about him. Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

He had a rare skin disease where his melanin (the skins pigments that give our skin its color)is destroyed it's called vitiligo. You actually see the blotches in his skin beneath the make up in some of his earlier close up pics. He actually is very proud of his black heritage, he said so in many of his interviews. I just think that some people would like to believe the worst in others that's why Michael was subjected to this ridicule but you can see that vitiligo is a legitimate disease and Michael did suffer from it.

When ever you are on top, there is always something being said about whether good or bad. He has done alot of good things and at the same time a list of thing not approved by his race. Think about it, why should we care, why should we judge, 97% of the most wealthiest men or women in the has not yet make a step towards getting rid world starvation. The next question is have you made yours?

Michael had vitiligo . It makes varying sized patches all around the body of the person who has it . It happens due to the loss of the natural pigment . It is what I have always said , thought and believed about Michael Jackson . I always have defended him simply because I have always known that there are perfectly logical explanations for all of his so called " weird ways " that he exhibited . He had probably started painting himself black , at first , to cover the minor discolorations . But as the patches of white started to become larger , it probably just became more easier for MJ to start to lighten up the dark patches , instead of continuing to paint and cover the white patches . He wore the glove for that , too . He wanted to cover the patches . He got badly burned on his scalp , and on his face a lil' too . And that was another blow to his already huge self conscious problem . He was soooooooooooo ultra sensitive . And extremely painfully shy . People make fun of this , but unless you are painfully shy yourself , you have no idea exactly how hard it is to deal with , or how difficult it is to live with . Everyone goes " Oh poor RICH Michael " , making fun as if he didn't have feelings like every other human being on this earth . Yet , yeah , all that money , he didn't care about money . MJ wasn't greedy . That's proven in the way he donated tons of his own money all the time and how he carelessly spent money for collectibles an things like that that he loved so much . Movie memorabilia , collectable dolls and statues , cool mannequins , comics , childrens books . I am a girl who still loves to collect cool and neat childrens books and comics and other cool kids stuff . There's nothing wrong with that . Just because he had that rumor of him being a weirdo , everyone was so hard on him . MJ wasn't made for this world . I know so many geeky guys that have their houses or rooms all decked out with Star Wars dolls and action figures , and comics and toys and board games ! That's nothing new . Jeez ! The press made him out to be some freak and then all the hatred he had for his looks , because his skin was changing colors and he'd been burned , and had to start messing more with plastic surgery . And had to take painkillers , too , for the all of the pain ! No wonder ! And MJ most likely had LUPUS . That is a terrible and painful disease . I have known people who have had lupus and who have had vitiligo . The pain they have gone through , and the shame they have suffered for having " freaky " skin ! MJ's soul was just tired . A human being can only take so much .
