Which songs or artists (or both) do you feel are overplayed on the radio?

For me, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, and the Eagles are played way too much. I used to like Zeppelin, but once you've heard "Ramble On," "Black Dog," and "Stairway To Heaven" 50 million times on one day, I got so sick of them...now I can't stand them. One can only take so much of hearing Robert Plant singing about how his woman did him wrong. What about y'all?

Anybody who makes a good song evenually falls into this catergory. Not saying that these bands aren't great, but they do get a lot of air time: the beatles, elvis, jimi hendrix, etc. One that pops to the top of this list for me is ZZ top. I never realized how many of their songs I knew until one day I glanced at one of their greatest hits cd's and reconized 50 of the songs! And I don't own no ZZtop.

ZZ Top--that's another group. If I hear "LaGrange" one more time...gah! I hear some songs by the Doors, but it's mostly "Light My Fire" and "Hello I Love You". Very, very rarely will I hear "The Crystal Ship" or "Alabama Song," which are two of my all-time favorite Doors songs.

I agree, some artists are way overplayed. In the first place I can't stand anything by the Eagles, and so what do they play? That stupid 'New Kid in Town' song by the Eagles constantly. Or Clearwater Revival, whatever their name is, I always have to turn the tuner to a different station on my radio. I'm gettin Carpal Tunnel from it.

"Hotel California" is driving me up the wall, that's how much it gets played where I live. Anything by Bob Seger as well. "Like A Rock" is probably the #1 song of his that's always on the radio. I physically get ill when it's played. Weird, but true.

I absolutely love Led Zeppelin, and rarely get tired of anything of theirs!! Please don't knock Robert Plant-LOL. I find him one of the most talented musical geniuses of all time. Aerosmith can easily be overplayed, as you said. Van Halen can VERY easily be overplayed with David Lee Roth on leads, as he says "Ow" or uses his obnoxious screech way too often. Journey-Overplayed, and to me, nothing special at all. Those few come to mind, but if I think of anymore, I will definitely list them as well.

Well, it's mostly going to depend on what type of music or radio station you listen to. If you listen to those stations that play the newest, most popular stuff like I do, you're gonna hear the same 10 songs at least 3 times in less than a day. Haha. Right now it's Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, etc. Also, for rock stations, my brother SWEARS Linkin Park would be his favorite band, if the radio hadn't ruined them by playing their songs ALL the time and practically everywhere. Hehe.

That's a big reason why I don't listen to the stations that play current music, because they play these songs at least three or four times in an hour. I'm exaggerating, but you get the picture. Happy MyLotting!

Haha, I love Led Zeppelin. They are my favorite band. But when it comes to overplayed on the radio, I'd have to say Nickelback. I've heard them on like 4 seperate stations at the same time one day.

I love "Immigrant Song," but that one isn't played as much as "Stairway," which is a shame. Grr.
