I finally found a tea I really enjoyed drinking. It is a red tea and is made with rooibos and is cinnamon apple flavored. I went back to the store to purchase some more and they disconinued carrying that tea! I was so disappointed! I hear it is really good for you. Does anyone know what red teas are supposed to be good for?

Well, according to WebMD ( www.webmd.com/diet/features/tao-of-tea ) tea made from rooibos has 50% more antioxidents than green tea, which are believed to help reduce the free radicals in your sytem which can damage cells and supposedly lead to cancer.
besides being rich in antioxidents, the tea is also rich in vitamin c (which we all know is good for you) is caffine free, and is lower in tannins (which can cause diegestional problems in some people) than other teas.
I be if you do a search online for the particular brand of tea you were purchasing, you can probably order it online and have it delivered direct to your house.
sounds yummy, i had never heard of it before!

yeah, I found it.. it just gripes me to have to pay shipping on top of the price of the tea!! Thanks for all the good information on the red tea though. This particular brand (good earth) is the one I like. It is Cinnamon apple and has just the right blend that I found I prefer! Thanks again!

I will definitely do that! Thanks for the information. They were carrying it and I bought a couple at a time for awhile until they were gone. Then when I went back the other day, they had a whole line of teas but none of that brand or flavor! I figured they were thinking that since the one sold there was a big market for them or something... but I only wanted the one! I will ask though, thanks!

Yeah, that does suck to have to pay extra for it. Here's a suggestion for ya. Next time you go into the grocery store, ask to speak to whoever is in charge of that section (preferably the grocery manager). Ask him/her if there is any way they can still order the tea, even though it has been discontinued. Many times items are taken out of stores just because they aren't selling well in that particular area and they would rather use that shelf space for something that does better. If it is a good size chain store with many locations, AND the company is still producing the product (which they must be if you can get it on line), they might still carry it in their main warehouse, they just don't ship it to your store anymore. In that case they can usually still do a special order for you. I work for a large chain supermarket on the U.S. east coast and we do this for people all the time.
They might require that you purchase a specific amount, like say at least 6 packages or something, in order to make it worth hile for them to get it shipped out. But that stuff usually has a fairly long expiration date. Or if you have any friends or aquantences that also like the product, go in on purchasing a case together.
just something to look into!

I am a tea drinker too. But, I have not had red tea yet. I have been having green tea. I like the flavor and it is very refreshing. I drink green tea every afternoon. I believe it has herbal value too. I will have to find out about red tea. Thank you for the information.

I have not found a green tea that I really like. I keep trying different kinds, but they are all bitter! I hear they are good for you though!

Hello macdlingolinger, they don't carry red teas in the shops here but I have some friends from South Africa and they keep a supply in their taverna as drink it themselves. I will try it when the weather cools down as the only hot beverage I indulge in in the heat is coffee. Usually I drink a lot of mountain tea in the winter which is a local brew which comes as long bunches of mountain herbs and has an unusual flavour and is purported to be very healthy. It is boiled up to release the flavours rather than just having boiling water poured over it.
