I think it's time that some folks get their behinds 'kicked to the curb' over in D.C. Approximately 700 people from our Social Security Administration flew out to Phoenix, AZ. for a time of fun and partying at the tax payer's expense ( or maybe some of the stimulis money), to the tune of $700,00.00 ! ! ! When does it end? Why wasn't this money allocated "for" Social Security? I still can't figure out why the government, including our president, have done NOTHING to shore up the coffers for our Social Security. It is said to be in dire crisis, yet no one has even suggested any stimulis (or any oth4r funds), be put into it. And any talk of helping anyone, is all about the rich and the middle class. You'd think by the sound of things that America had no poor folks within it!

Hi ClassyCat, I heard about their little rendezvous on the radio, and I assume they will get away with it. Almost every day there is another debacle that is wasting Americans hard earned money. It seems as though the 'Big Shots' are allowed to grab all they can grab right now, because pretty soon there won't be any money left in any coffers. Thanks for posting this, as people need to know.

The ridiculous spending has got to stop, I fully agree. Obama's Inauguration cost American tax-payers some $170 million. That would save more than a few peoples LIVES if you ask me. Good topic.

Hi Classy, The present Government wants us to go away. They want the poor to just die off so that only the rich survive. They don't care about the old and the poor. The fact that those people from SS would spend that kind of money on their own pleasure knowing personally that people are starving and dying because they can't afford their meds. should be ashamed of themselves but they aren't. They will justify their actions some way. It's so disgusting and so very wrong. Hugsss leenie

I think this is the one I seen on the news a few days ago that literally made me sick to my stomach. I had to turn the TV off and proceed to cuss out everyone "controlling" the PEOPLE'S money! My dog hates me for it! :P If he could talk, he'd tell me to shut it on up, but I digress... They asked the guy in charge of setting it up if this was truly the best way that taxpayer money could be spent. He answered, "Yes. Yes it is." That was enough for me.

Thanks to all of you for your comments. Has anyone heard of or can you find the name of the IDIOT who either set all of this up, or ok'd it? I say it's time to start ranting and raving over some of this, and give the "star of the show" some very bad publicity! I haven't listened to Rush or Glenn Beck lately - - wonder if they've cvommented on it. Our dunderheads up in D.C. don't worry about Social Security, cause when they retire they're 'set for life' and don't need it anyway. If they were commoners like the rest of us, it'd be a different story, wouldn't it?

I don't listen to Rush, but I did hear Glenn Beck mention it earlier this week. If you want to know who to scream at I'd recommend Commissioner of Social Security Michael J. Astrue. http://www.ssa.gov/pressoffice/factsheets/astrue.htm

I saw video of this crap. It's disgraceful. Congress loves to act outraged at the parties thrown by banks after getting bailout money, but they are completely silent regarding this garbage. Here are your tax dollars at work. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nozdspzOe7Q http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story?id=8084663&page=1
