Why do so many people not want a relationship anymore?

Coming from someone who is not in a relationship I would have to say I enjoy the single life for what it is, not what it isn't. For me, relationships just add stress when you are around that person. You always have to be on guard and don't want to embarrass yourself and you want to impress them. I can get the same companionship and connection with a close group of friends without the stress of a partner. I don't have to worry about anyone being upset and at the end of the day I only have to be concerned about my own happiness. It is definitely alot easier.
