Nightmares

I am wondering, does babies have nightmares. My 6 mth old will start crying in his sleep. We would have to pick him up and try to calm him down before he'd go back to sleep. Does anyone have an idea what their nightmares might be? I'm guessing they might be dreaming about something happening to their parents as they know no danger or anything to be scared of.

I think they too see nightmares.. They cry not only for nightmares.. they will always cry when they wake at night time.. they feel feer at night in no light.. when her mom was not with him.. then she will cry.. Some people say that.. 6 month child have the memories for previous birth.. so may be.. I don't belive it.. but i can be..
