Racist Jokes, good or bad?

People today are so high-strung, looking for what's politically correct and worrying about every step they take. People who go to comedy clubs and won't laugh at racist jokes. I think people need to calm down and leave things alone sometimes, it's true, racist jokes are FUNNY. Most people have them, and about you, they're laughing, so you can laugh too. Now there are truly racist comments, but honestly if you can't laugh at a joke, that was meant purely as a joke, i'd go as far as to say you're the racist. Honestly if you asked me racist jokes are just stereotypes, and stereotypes are only facts, that we don't like to admit. Sad truth is most of us fulfill the stereotypes of our races every day, so if someone jokes about you eating fried chicken, or eating rice and beans everyday, laugh already, because we all love kfc and mama's rice and beans are kickin'!

What makes me angry is there is always a public outcry about racist jokes but it seems to be the accepted thing to ridicule and bring particular people down..I believe there is no need to insult and be horrible about people, it is just not funny...one of the Women on The Panel once said she basically has the right to ridicule because she is a standup comic, well I think if a standup comic or anyone else has to ridicule anyone then they should not be doing standup, its not funny...so I would rather see racist joking so long as it isn't ridicule after all we are all so very different in our ways that I guess we all privately laught at each other but when it is getting personal onto a particular person I don't like...

I still say a well-educated person needs to be sensitive. Humor is cultural. What one deems funny in a given context may totally be insulting in another. Having dealt with people from different cultures, anything discriminating can never be funny. Knowing that each individual comes with his/her unique values, racist remarks, even in a joking way, should be avoided. In a world full of stereotypes, the most hospitable way out is to keep a respectful tone.

Boom there is. I am one of those people who does not like a racist joke, regardless of who is telling it or what race they're joking about. Even if it's a black person referring to their own race, in fact that's even more infuriating to me because that gives permission for others to insult us. You think people need to calm down, I think people need to learn common courtesy. You don't have to insult another race of people to be funny and if a person feels that they need to, to get a laugh, than that speaks more on their character than anything else, as well as to those to find racism funny. Studies show that 70 % of every joke is based on what that person truly feels or believes, therefore, it's not meant to be purely a joke. There are people with deep rooted ignorance of other people, and that's truly disgusting, and those who laugh, are a part of the issue. And we don't all love KFC or beans and rice.....
