The summer heat is brutal out here and life is nocturnal and indoors

I live in the desert in Southern California. Though it took a while to get here we are now enjoying temperatures over 114 degrees with promises of 117 next week. Anyone who goes outside in the heat of the day either MUST go out there, they're a tourist, or they're nuts! It is now 6:45 am and already the temperature is hovering just under 100 degrees! Now I am nonplussed by the heat because I like to workout outside. Well my exercise aparatus is outside. But to go out and workout anytime the sun is up is insane! It's still hot at night but the mid eighties beats the hundreds. The problem is that in order to hit the weather at 84 degrees during the summer you have to go out there and workout at 2a.m. Luckily I am nocturnal summer and winter so that doesn't bother me any. I have actually come to enjoy the silky way that the night feels on my skin and how quiet everything is. It sometimes feels a little weird to be outside dancing in the moonlight after midnight but after all who is there to see me out there? Even if people were up as dark as my skin is and as dark as it is out here I am probably all but invisible out there even if I didn't have the wall and fence around my house. How's the weather in your neck of the woods? How are you coping or adapting your life or your fitness schedule around the heat of the summer? Do you have to reschedule your life in the summer around the oppressive heat where you live or is it more temperate? Do you enjoy being outdoors in the summertime?

Hi sharone, Where i live, its quite hot too. but its quite ok now as its the rainy season here. During the summers we have vvery hot air blowing and yes its very harmful to go outside. Say from 1 to 5 pm in the summers it gets difficult to go outside but its manageable. Well its good that u r exersixing in the tough times too. I saw the video of yrs in youtube and u look simple awesome there. I would love to be as flexible like u . Cheers, Tutul

Hi Sharone, like you I am adjusting my days to the crazy heat. The only time it is cool is first thing in the morning and unless I have to I don't go out before about 5 when we head to the sea when the sun is past it's most dangerous. Today I had to go to town and there was no air, the humidity was so thick you could touch it. I was in an air conditioned room in town and came outside about 8pm to unbelievable heat. Right now it's something crazy like 4am but it is way too hot to sleep even though the fan is at the foot of the bed. But it will be cool enough inside in the morning to exercise before 10am. Meanwhile the tourists of course are lapping it up, lying on the beach in the midday sun frying to a crisp.
