It is not at all like just in India every software is legally UNAFFORDABLE, it's just normal price of service which you are using.. of course it's very easy to use pirated software but it's not like that you are forced to use it.. Windows XP is of around 6k INR.. which is not at all costly if you think once that you are totally dependant upon OS..

I had the genuine Windows XP. But was forced to uninstall when the Operating System was more of a collection of the then latest viruses. Tried to install the very same genuine version, but they made me suffer by saying that you can't move further without activating and the only choice (I couldn't skip the activation during installation) was to make a phone call to US and activate your OS For Windows even if you pay. its not worth. Now i use Linux.(Done with all the GENUINE ADVANTAGE!)

To be honest, I do pirate a small portion of my software. Being a student like you, I have a really tight budget and for now it's the only way for me to get my hands on the software. I guess that's not really a good thing but you have to do what you have to do. But when I do have the money, I try to pay for the software when I can.

As the cost of original software are very high, I am using free wares or pirated copies only except the anti virus software..But with the free ware, we have to struggle a lot..They are bundled with spy wares and virus always. We need to format the system very often..If they sell the software for less cost, then most of us can move to them and the overall profit will be more to them than now. But they are not doing this..
