Do you count the stairs?

Yeah you're right a weird, first time to know someone like that.... Yes you're right that would be effective during brown outs or no lights during night time...

hi, counting the steps doesn't sound very weird to me although i don't do it, well some habits remain from our childhood, in the dark it helps you to get down... that sounds funny though... my habit is much weirder..i like to play with my ears, but i am mostly conscious enough not to do it the public

It isn't weird, I think a lot of people do this, climbing stairs can be boring especially when you have to do them day in day out, so counting them takes off the monotony of climbing them! I used to do this a lot as a child, not so much as an adult because I find that concentrating too hard on counting I lose my step! Sometimes I even climb two steps at a time and count in twos, never managed three steps though!

I dont count the stairs. I dont think it is necessary to do so. I know how many stairs are in the front and the back of my house. I simply am aware of how many stairs are there and it something that I often walk or go up and down as necessary when I am in a stange place it does not occur to me to count the stairs.

I don't think its weird I have done that also since I was a little girl. I have no idea why. I guess part of it is knowing how many stairs you are climbing. In my house in NY there were always alot of stairs to climb from the basement to the attic so I would alway count. It was the same as the house I grew up in stairs from the basement to the attic. I find now that my granddaughter will do the same thing going up or down she will start to count.
