Work from home or commute?

Having a career is a must in order to survive, support your family and do the things that you want to (or have to) do. I'd like to know if you earn your bread solely from home (via online business, editing etc.) or you commute to work each day? My preference is to work from home as I've control over the time, and I don't have a boss to listen to. It's still a long, long way off. Let's hear it from all.

Corporate Chick - I miss working at the office!
I am working at home right now, telecommute, but I do this for a company full-time, 8 hours a day, 6 days a week. This is a great job since I am a single Mom and living alone with my baby would be impossible if I work in the office. With this type of work, I am able to take care of my son while working, time is flexible as well and that I can also dig on other online extra money making schemes. Though I must admit I miss the corporate world, working and corresponding with others face to face on a daily basis. Nevertheless, my son is my priority and thus, working at home is the best as of the moment!

Thanks for the response. Do you need to strictly start at 9AM and end at 5PM like normal office workers, too? I think the job you're doing now is perfect for me, but I doubt there's such a thing in my country where telecommuting is unheard of. On the contrary, I agree with you on one point - that we'll miss the face-to-face interaction with our colleagues... the laughter, the sadness.

Yes, we have to have a job and earn to support ourself and family members too. I have a full time job with a Company which is in the international trading sector. It is a nice job. I like it very much. I also enjoy travelling within the country and also to countries in different parts of the world on business trips, on Company expenses.
