Hi, mylotters. There has been a great impact of computers and internet on our way and mediums of study and reading. As one can not afford to purchase a huge variety of hard copies of books, many people prefer to use ebooks. I myself have over 10 GB of ebooks and mostly use them to study rather than the hard copies. What about you? Do you also use ebooks frequently or prefer the hard copies?

Hi my friend, I have never even seen what an ebook looks like and have no wish to. A book to me is a favourite thing to curl up with and relax, I cannot imagine the same pleasure from staring at a computer screen. Also when I am in the middle of a book I take it everywhere with me, I take it to school in the afternoons when I collect my son incase he is late out, I move around the house with it, it comes to the beach. So it wouldn't be very practical for me to use an ebook. The purchase price of books is of course a real issue, as is obtaining English language books here in Greece, so I am usually reliant on book swap places or my own now depleted books.

Well, that`s good to swap books, that makes you books available at low price or free of cost. Swapping of books is generally not available here. So, most of the time, i have to buy a brand new or second hand hard copy. You are right. Staring at the computer screen and reading does not impart the feeling the hard copies do, especially with the novels. But as i mostly read programming books, it is OK to read from the laptop. Moreover, it is hard or nearly impossible find all those books in the market. But, as you do, i also try to find the hard copy in some library or book store, but many times there is no choice other than the ebooks. Thanks for your response. Happy Mylotting!!

Yeah, you are very much like me. I also read ebooks a lot. These torrent sites are simply great. You can find nearly anything you want. I also admit that the variety we find in ebooks is not achievable with the hard copies at a certain place. Thanks for your response. Happy Mylotting!!

You have 10gb of ebooks? Wow that really amazing. I also have, but not so much like yours. Even though I don't mind reading through ebook, but I also prefer actual book, except actual books usually cost more and spaces. Because I'm living in rural area, and it kind difficult to have a good book, so ebook is the only options I have. I'm glad I able to sit a long time in front of computer to read.

Wow, I am glad there is at least somebody who stands in my category. Although, i also favor reading hard copies, i read mostly from ebooks as it is not affordable to purchase hard copies every time. Moreover, it is not possible to find every book in hard copy in the market around. Thanks for your response. Happy Mylotting!!

Yeah, it does hurt eyes and that is the only reason i try to find a hard copy first, and if i can not, i don`t abstain from the ebook. But, certainly, whatever you read, hard copies or ebooks, it is a very good habit. Thanks for your response. Happy Mylotting!!

I would read more ebooks if I knew the sites where I can get a wide variety free to read. It has happened to me a lot: looking for a book rto read and finding a site that wants to sell. Could you give me some links PM please? I would thank you very much

Hi, friend. Well, i also opt for the hard copy if i have to pay. But, generally i find free ebooks, so i go for them. Mostly, i have to read technical books, for them i can tell you some sites, for non technicals, i will PM you if i find some sites in future,. http://www.freetechbooks.com, http://www.freebooksclub.net, www.computerbooks.us , www.netbks.com are good techbooks sites. Also, www.free-ebooks.net, www.getfreebooks.com contain wide variety of books both technical and non-technical. Moreover, on www.torrentz.com, you will find ebooks on nearly every topic. If i find any more good sites, i will PM you. Thanks for your response. Happy Mylotting!!

I've read a couple of ebooks on my computer, but I have to say I enjoying having a hard copy more. Most of the books that I read for fun are easier to carry around than my laptop and I don't have to worry about the battery dying. And it's easier to lounge around and read a real book than trying to get comfortable with my laptop. I usually get books from my library. I'm not used to reading book on my laptop so it's still a little strange.

Yeah, my friend. Most people prefer hard copies to ebooks. Although, hard copies are not always available, it is always good to prefer them over ebooks due to several reasons you just mentioned plus reading from a laptop is harmful for eyes also. Thanks for your response. Happy Mylotting!!

Ebooks. They are definitely cheaper and easier to get than hard copies. But then, I much prefer hard copies if I could get them. The smell of a book is just...nostalgic. =]
