My friend has very bad psoriasis. It is just painful to even look at. One day I was helping put the medicine on in places that couldn't be reached on the back by yourself. And I had to say YOU NEED TO GO TO THE dermatologist. This friend now goes in a few days..thank goodness. How long did you wait to go to the dr?

I have psoriasis but it is only mild case, I don't see a dermatologist about it. My grandpa,my uncle,a cousin, and me have it but I haven't heard if anyone else has it in my family. I only have it on one area of my body and it is not noticeable. My head. Which my hair covers it. I seen a doctor about it once and I don't like the shampoo they prescribe it takes the life out of your hair and it also causes hair loss. I stopped using that after 2 months and I went to using T-gel from Neutrogena a few times a year and it has helped me alot. I also hated going places because of the psoriasis and now that has helped my self-esteem alot. I tried the generic but it didn't work as well..so in that case cheap isn't always better or works as well.

Sorry..not noticeable now..but before the use of the t-gel shampoo..it was awful, looked like I had a severe case of dandruff which it wasn't and it was embarrassing and I couldn't wear certain colors because it was to noticeable..so I am glad for the t-gel in between uses of the t-gel I use a shampoo I get from Avon that works well.

I do tend to wait too long, especially if it's something wrong with me. With the kids I won't wait very long before taking them in, but my husband and I will only go if we're in terrible pain. I twisted my ankle 2 weeks ago, it still sort of hurts, but I haven't gone to the doctor. I just keep saying "It's only twisted, it will get better". I've already got 5 appointments this week for the kids physicals and dental exams, that's enough for me!

even though we have 'free' healthcare here in canada (its social medicine, which means everyone has access to the doctors), i hate going so i tend to put it off. i usually end up having to wait at least an hour to see the dr so i only go when i am really sick and sometimes it is too late.

I don't have Medicaid or Insurance so going to the Dr. is a last resort for me. I'll often try to fight the sickness on my own or using home remedies until it gets so bad that I have no choice. Year before last I went from the flu to double pnemonia before I ended up in the hospital with breathing problems...I finally went to the Dr's.

yes i waited too long to go to the doctor. everyone told me the bump on my eye is a syte and will go away but it didn't. it stayed on my eye for about 5 months. then my mom finally told me she got me a appointment he told me it was a stye and gave me alot of medicine it didn't work i told him it might be a chalazia but he didn't listen it didn't go away still so we went to a different doctor i told her i thought it was a chalazia and she said i was right she gave me some steriods and 1 month later it went away. so i basically i had a big bump on my eye all of the school year.
