For years children in the former Soviet Union and many other countries have been taught chess as a way of improving basic reasoning as well as math and verbal skills.
There are many studies that substantiate the value of chess in schools
So may discussion will be about why we should teach chess

Does make sense that it exhausting game I play lots of blitz games online as well
Back to study matter what are the hard facts about chess and academic achievements.
Chess has been proven to enhance creativity, concentration, critical thinking skills ,memory, problem solving, academic achievements ,as well as cultural enrichment, intellectual maturity .self esteem and a host of other qualities that parents and teachers desire
A study its name the MARGULIE'S study conclusively proved that students who learned chess enjoyed a significant increase in their reading skills.
In the third study which included many poor readers ,the student showed significant growth in verbal reasoning skills
A guy his name Roger Langen claimed that children who learn chess at an early age
achieve more in the traditional maths and science and found that the most striking benefits are those associated with problem-solving and creativity
The Bradford ESEA Project found that chess demonstrated the greatest growth over all activities four years in a row.Since critical thinking is crucial in all aspects of life.it is imperative to disseminate the effects of this study and to implement a chess curriculum in schools they proved. In their study the average
annual increase in percentile score for Critical thinking Appraisal in the chess group was 17% National students who take this test at yearly intervals did not show a gain in the percentile ranking

I personally love this game. I consider it as one of man's great inventions too. It's one game I play a lot in the net. You can do that anytime you want to because you can also play it alone against the computer unlike the real chess where you need a partner to spar with. Sometimes I bend the rules to make it a little easier or harder to make it more exciting and interesting.
I remembered playing it with a girl who was my classmate when we were in school. It took us a long time to finish one game. That could easily take us between 1 to 2 hours, perhaps more. If not for the bell we could have gone longer. I have always lost to her. And I usually got exhausted beyond this one game.
Watching it is just as exciting as playing it. Chess makes me see, reason, analyze and plan strategies. It sharpens one's skills in these areas I thought but not sure if it does the same in areas of language development. I think if one can relate any problem to a game one is playing, then finding a solution to the said problem could lead to a more satisfying solution.
Chess, it's one game I love both on and offline.
